Problem - Noob Needing KissAssist Help

Yes, after I launch KissAssist on all my toons, the problem of not assisting the pet tank and chain casting occur on all my toons.

Need some help and advice.

I have downloaded KissAssist ini templates for each of my characters. That's when I ran into some issues that I'm hoping that when I describe them, you'll see what I'm doing wrong.

* loaded EQBC2
* auto-loaded my characters and they auto-joined group
* typed /mac kissassist for each toon and had them target my mage's pet, given that for this set-up, he's the main tank.
* initially each toon seemed to load up fine and they auto-buffed themselves and the mage pet.

That's where things started to go wrong.

* For a couple of the toons (druid and shaman) they kept wanting to chain cast the same spell over and over. Preincarnation for the druid, Talisman of Ry'Gorr for the shaman. For the mage, I kept getting an error message, saying that "that name can't be found".

Being a noob at MQ2, I thought that if I had KissAssist loaded for each of my toons, that when my mage pulled the first mob, that after 95% or so the other toons would start doing their thing ie. dpsing or healing. They did nothing.

Should I be executing other commands before I start pulling mobs?

I'm guessing I'm missing something obvious, but would appreciate your advice and where I can go to learn what I have to.

Check this link out for references. Certain sections of the ini may not be turned on/enabled. Just depends on how it was set up by the person who posted it. If you link the ini you may get more help. Use button to link code/txt/ini's.

I'll just put this here, too, in case the instructions are overwhelming to you. The way you need to view kiss is as a tool that issues automated player commands (meaning, commands that YOU as a player would issue if you were playing the toon yourself). Trying to set an "MA" to a pet does not exist just like it doesn't exist when you play your mage without KA. If you as a player, go click on your pet and set a role, you will see it sets it for your mage and not your pet. Another way to look at it is that your pet wouldn't know what to do unless you told it stuff to do. Get the drift?

By default using just /mac kissassist (which is exactly what you described doing) will have the mage (and not the pet) set to the current role in the ini which is set to Role=Assist. So when you run kissassist, you need to actually do /mac kissassist Yourmagename PullerPetTank in order to override the ini setting. Otherwise, you can also just go into the mage ini and change the roll to such. "This role allows for a pet class (Mage/Necromancer/Beastlord) to BOTH pull and have their pet tank)" as per the KA instructions/guide.

Next, I don't know if you want to pull with your pet or if you are pulling with spells. If you want to pull with the pet then you need to go into mage the ini and change:
PullWith=Melee
to
PullWith=Pet
OR
If you want to pull with malo instead then insert whatever current malo spell you have, such as PullWith=Malaise (malaise is an AA ability that will cast the highest rank of malo you know).

Your toons are primarily bugging out and doing nothing because they actually don't have an MT to assist off of as a result since your role was still being viewed as "Assist" on your mage.

Excellent. Thanks Jarsath and Evelyn. I'll make these changes and then see how it goes. Sounds like if I get the /mac kissassist Yourmagename PullerPetTank in place, it might resolve a few things.
