Made it to 85 so far with my 6box group, and have gotten decked out in mostly Elegant Defiant gear, and some other similar caliber gear from Loping Plains and Bloodmoon Keep. I could stay in Bloodmoon Keep for a few other incremental upgrades, but I'd like to adventure elsewhere before I get too far into 85-90.

I'm trying to plan out my next steps, and its looking like House of Thule or Underfoot would be some good expansions. It would all be new content for me. I'm just not sure if there's a better path, and how all the armor works now. I keep seeing references to T5 etc type gear. This is all quest gear you have to follow a complicated progression for?

What would you all recommend?

do house of thule expansion, its a newer expansion over underfoot and its really good

It also depends on how fast you want to level your toons. If you are looking to level them fast then you might look at doing Gribble missions. Those are great exp for your level range as well as will get you currency to buy good level 100 gear. If you just want to chill out and level slowly then yes you can star with House of Thule. Keep in mind that the mobs in House of Thule start to hit a lot harder than you might be used to.

HoT or T1 UF will be good choices but these zones are going to be a bit of a ramp up from SoF. HoT T1 I think is about T2/3 UF so slightly harder than brells rest but easier than convorteum.

The problem you might experience would be your tank, there is a big jump in content difficulty versus gear you'd typically get in this range. 75-85 is kind of a rough spot in the grind up as most players go from SoF straight to HoT after buying gear and skipping SoD/UF mostly.

SoD bridged the gear gap of 300-400 per item and bringing you up to 600-700, UF then brought 800-1k with its tiers and the 900-1000 tier is where HoT T1 starts.

After you can handle HoT, the tiers after this are pretty easy to manage. ToV will be your next big jump unless you go into TBL before hand to upgrade conflagrant gear before AAs

The type 5 gear starts in TBM which is level 105.

TLDR: Try HoT T1, if its too rough get some augs and try to buy some HoT T1 gear to bridge the gap.

If you are on FV I have a ton of old 85-90 armor. I think I have 2-3 chain 8/8 a full set of monk gear. God knows what else all kinds of stuff.

I started doing the achievements. Seeds and heroes journey got me gear that was better than elegant, plus had purity to use a power source. Nearly doubled the HP on my SK. I will say it basically stopped all my leveling though to go do quests against light blue/green mobs, but after completing Oceangreen Hills, Oceangreen Village, and bloody kithicor, going and doing the adventures from Clayton teak was night and day easier before v. after.

This is the way... these quests can be started with elegant defiant and you'll gear up to HoT t1 level gear in the process.

Thank you all for the tips! Got some nice upgrades in Feerott, doable with my group. Crazy jump going from 200-300hp items to nearly 1000.

That's awesome! Glad you were able to tackle the content. I too started a new 6 box group and it goes by so quickly! However, the thing that always shocked me the most was how much stronger mobs got each expansion and the MAJOR difference in gear drops/upgrades.

Keep your tank geared and you're going to blast through content!

If you do the intro TBM missions, you can unlock the ability to purchase a set of level 75 gear with aug slots that can be upgraded every 5 levels up to 105 so your gear can stay up to date. I believe the currency is tradeable to be able to buy the upgrade augs (though the last time I leveled was on FV so take that with a grain of salt), and you can refund the previous augs to cut the costs of the new ones.

You can also find rare mobs in the TBM missions that drop slightly better versions of the level 75 gear, so they are worth doing for more than just to keep up your currency to 105.

I am wondering if you could do the heroic quests in HOT with non-heroic toons, if so my thought would be that your best bet would be do the intro TBM quests, buy some currency, get the gear with 85 augs, do the intro HOT heroic toon quests to fill in slot 7s for all your toons, then do a set of TBM missions each day to keep your currency up without having to purchase more, and fill in extra exp in whichever expansion you prefer.

You can 'do' the quests, but the Augments are a bonus reward for Heroic characters. So the character must be Heroic to be granted the Augments.

Ahh dang, well the TBM setup still gets you into a pretty good situation to get to 105. You'll just have to fill in the AC augs from other places.

What worked well for me was doing TBM with my 6 box and feeding my tank with all the currency from my other toons to have a beefed-up SK. I also bought the other five the starter template armor from TBM (since it's cheap).

Then would rotate through TBM missions and hit HoT to gear out my other toons in T1 Abtruse & the zone-wide drops (terror-linked & thulian).

I did the same - and pushed hard to get in to the candy land camp and the beach with tank in TBM with full set of augs. Camped it for a day and had jewelry and drops for my whole crew + essences, came back into TBM to work on gearing the rest of the crew.

Bard invis was wonderful.
