Question - New to MQ/KA, quick question on Spell Gems

Hi there,

Just came back to EQ and am trying out RQ/KA. So far, it's going great. I do have one question I have not figured out yet. On one of my 3boxes I have a shaman. At level 10, she already has more spells than she can fit on the 8 slot bar. Should I be expecting KA to load a "buff" spell bar, buff everyone, and then load a "dps" spell bar for the action? I ask because I am not seeing that behavior yet. The shaman is buffing everyone, but not switching in DPS spells when the fighting starts.

That section describes the settings. The misc gem will be swapped out for whatever buff is missing from the spell bar but needs to be cast.

You can configure KA to load a specific spell set when the macro starts. When the macro needs to buff, it will swap out a single gem slot to load the buff, cast it, then swap that gem back to the original spell. What slot it uses is configured in your ini. If you have several buffs to cast, it will load spells individually in that specified slot.

May help to share your ini file for the shm, but as Many_whelps said, you can have KA load a set if you save it on your toon. Your default set of spells should have your normal heals/dps that you want up all the time. The buffs section will load what spell you tell it to in the buffs section using the miscgemspell# you indicate and then return to your default spells. Hope that helps!

I had taken a long break, came back and EQ alone had a lot of changes, the walk throughs are nice, not everything is answered, but it's enough to be dangerous LOL... that said, I definitely found that learning and refining the INI taught me the most; experiment here, ask a question here, apply it there, seemed to teach me the most about it... I really enjoyed the older INI websites that walked me through (though I believe some are out of date or whatnot... they still were a really great place to learn a basic knowledge)
