Problem - New computer performance issue

I would be interested if anyone else has noticed a change in CWTN plugin performance since the last patch, or if it's something unique to my setup? I am using CWTN plugin for 2 zerkers, SK, and shammy. My other toons: bard and druid using KissAssist. All of my toons are max AA and have decent gear. For some reason, since the last patch my group is wiping to NOS missions I've never wiped in before. When I use the Come to Me feature, there is tremendous lag when the other toons move to my SK. I actually have to switch to each toon screen to see the toons start moving toward the caller. Never had this issue in the past. Basically, I'm noticing really poor combat performance, when in three years, never had the issue.

I would like to know if there's a way to check what may be going wrong. Would welcome suggestions.

Thanks,

Dysanor

might not be relevant... do u ever reset your computer before u start these? I've had issues with my group wiping from time to time. I started restarting my computer after long periods of play and before i do anything i don't want to wipe in ( at a friends suggestion ) sounds dumb. i haven't had any issues since. might not be the answer u were looking for but maybe give it a shot? I had lag issues at one point a cpl weeks ago, those have also cleared up

One thing you are going to take a whoopin' on is not providing enough data or feedback. "My toons are lagging" is about the same as asking, "Guess what's in my pocket?"

With that said, my shot in the dark is: delete your log files every once in a while. This will be in your Everquest folder, sub folder: Logs. Each toon name will have a log file. If each file is really good size, I'd recommend deleting them and EQ will start new ones.

Good luck!

running all ctwn programs here monk shammy rogue and necro and havinng 0 issues so it maybe on your end rather than the plugin

i don't use any cwtn plugins, but i do use KA. i know that if i play too long, and especially zone a ton (doing all missions from the last 4 expansions twice for example) that my toons start losing their minds and going full suicide mode: ignoring assist at percents and range, randomly engaging in melee (flex that sword arm, enc) and generally act like herd of asslings hopped on the hooch. if i reboot my computer, not just restart macros, everything is back to normal. /boggle

@Dysanor I dont use the CWTN plugins, but have used various other ones in the past, KA,mule, rgmercs, AFnuke and old stuff, and I always found long playtime would cause lagging to occur as well..

And, same applies with long play time and using EQBC to communicate between toons.. for whatever reason, I would eventually get major lag in response from the host to the clients.. it required a reboot to fix... I now use dannet since I've come back to EQ/MQ recently, and have no such issues anymore...

Dysanor sorry to hear you're having problems

"anyone seen a change in cwtn plugin performance" Nope.

I would double check you don't have antivirus scanning your mq/eq/rg folders, or file syncing turned on.

the cwtn plugins aren't going to be really doing anything if you hit come to me - if you pause them or unload the plugin and come to me, do they still have this mystery performance issue? because unless you have some file scanning / syncing issue, it is very unlikely that what your describing has anything to do with the cwtn plugins

also i renamed your title "Something Fishy" isn't a very good thread title - doesn't describe what your thread is about, nor gives folks any indication that you're having computer / performance problems.

I would make sure your eqclient didn't get reset to max settings (eq did that to me a couple patches ago).
I would make sure that you didn't turn off framelimiter
I would make sure your log files aren't bloated and taking over

you mentioned a bard and a druid, and mentioned their gear/aa (for some reason) but didn't mention if they were also having the issue you mentioned.

Thank you all. Sorry my post was vague. I am going to try the things suggested and see if I can get things back in shape.

Cheers,

Sounds like a AV scanning issue and/or Everquest memory leak(s). Try a quick reboot first. Smile, it'll be better, game on!
