Request - need some help with f2p healer

hi hoping some one can give some advice on my f2p cleric. currently having problems keeping group alive in places like beasts domain or Sairth . Group are all f2p and made up of a lvl 100 sk, lvl 100 berserker, lvl 96 bard, lvl 100 shaman and a now lvl 99 cleric plus a tier II aprentice cleric merc. have been using mainly KA but also giving FastHeal a go and still not surviving much.

any advice on tweaking her ini would be greatly appreciated

Firstly update to KissAssist 8.1.2 KA 8.1.2

Secondly perhaps disabling DPS and just letting the cleric only heal. Cycling through DPS spells while also trying to heal can cause missed opportunities to heal, this goes for a Player controlled or KA controlled cleric.

Do you pull large groups or just one at a time? If so do your other toons take a lot of damage or just MA? Looks like most of your heals are set to only heal MA, which is fine if he is taking all the damage.

I have never tried this but I noticed your heals repeat for two different percentages.. as I said I have never tried this but if your below 80% KA will try to heal you with the 80% spells 70 is already below 80 percent so in my minds eye that would conflict, however if it works great. If it's clunky maybe adding more heal type spells in the ranges will help versus the same ones. Staggering the spell heal percentages may help too. You have 4 spells all trying to kick off at 50%, 70%, and 80% and logically that can't happen since you can't cast 4 spells at once, so maybe staggering them to say 50, 52, 54, 56 etc may help. The other problem may be they are running into one another due to cast times etc, so if I have a heal set for 70 percent and my char is at 72 and suddenly I get hit and drop to 59 percent my heal set for 70 will start casting and my heal for 60 percent may never fire. Not sure about this, but perhaps there is queuing too and if so your 60 may kick off when your 50 and 40 should be causing delays in getting everything rolling. I know this sounds complicated and I may not be explaining it well. Long story short stagger your heals out a bit and see if that helps.

Do you pull multiple mobs or just one at a time? If you pull multiples might be smart to have a steady mezzer to keep extra mobs quiet.

Also never tried this but do Heal spells work in the AE section settings? I noticed more time than not it appears that mezzing spells or damage spells work best here, but again since I haven't tried it perhaps heals do as well. As a general rule of thumb as well, AE Heals cause a metric ass-ton of aggro, however if your tank kicks ass at aggro maintaining disregard this. Also if you pull multiple mobs into camp these AE Heals may interfere with the execution of your normal healing spells and cause unforeseen deaths that way.

Having buckets of heals memmed doesn't always mean quality healing. Sometimes using a few of the right quality spells at the right time in the right circumstances far out-way the quantity of them.

Updating KA will help a lot. The version you are using does not heal unless cleric goes into melee combat which might explain why you are meleeing. Healing is a lot easier at level 100 since it opens up some items and spells. Is this toon completely f2p with no extra xpacs and limit of 250 aa's? If so, that is a bit rough. You whole group is pretty weak if they are all f2p and I found it difficult even with a bare bones warrior to tank there. A cleric can get away with 500 or so aa's and function but a tank class really needs the gear/aa's. The a2 merc is pretty worthless I found. Maybe gives off 3-4 heals before oom and basically a speed bump before the group wipes. If possible, I would try to go gold at least for 1 month so you can get all the autogrant aa's, but the problem is once you are lured into that, you'll start getting prestige gear etc and that's how EQ gets you at this point. You can tinker with the ini some but I think this might just be the limitation of a f2p account.
 
didnt notice that with KA as its latest Compile so assumed was latest KA. but will down load it and try again.
toons are all heroic so have the 4.5k aa's they come with and tank has about 8k as i had him gold for a while. will probably do so again if i can sort out the healing.



should add ive had 3 groups of F2P heroic toons grinding/farming in beasts without much problem before, ccould go a day or two without wipe, but then i gave them a rest for a while and when i decided to start them farmign again they cant seem to last more than 5 mins
 
I forgot to update kiss in the compile and that version is messed up. Just download the newest one and you will fine.
 
With that amount of aa, the problem is definitely with your version of KA. I thought you were trying to do this with 250aa toons which would be very very difficult. I think once you get 100 on cleric, should be a lot simpler and you can probably farm rof zones. I would not even bother with that a2 merc. Throw some other toon in there. Once you hit 100 on the cleric, re-evaluate the ini. I don't think it looks too bad except I probably wouldn't dps, I would not do the AE, I would throw Shining Bastion into the buffs section, I would yaulp if you have mana problems via mq2melee. Otherwise, you are pretty much running a solid looking ini that should work.

Looked again and saw you are not meleeing so in this KA, you don't heal at all which explains a lot. I think Maskoi put that version in there on purpose ;)

one reason why i was hoping to twink the clerics ini, would have hoped 2 clerics and a shaman healing would have been able to keep the sk n zerker up. alth was hoping to maybe add an extra dps eg wiz or rogue.

So far working much better with the new KA 8.1.2, hopefully that was the main problem but have also disabled the AE and DPS section.

So then I have a question for Maskoi or Tree or anyone that knows, having multiple spells all set to cast for the same percentage, how does KA process that? Does it "queue" up the spells? Does KA have the logic in its code to say ok I cast my first 70% heal let me now move on to the next? Or does it just say ok I finished line 274 in my script let me know move on to line 275,276, 277 and so on? I am merely asking this so I have a better understanding of the way KA handles multiple spells all going off at the same time.

One more question then also does having the same spell at different health percentages skill cast or does it cast once at 80 and then again at 70? For instance does KA cast a heal marked for 80% Health only the one time you go below 80 or does it keep casting until you are above 80%?

Sorry to hijack the thread but now I am really interested in understanding the logic KA uses, purely for better cast handling for any of my mana users :)
 
From what I can tell looking at the code. The Heal array is split into 2 Arrays. 1 for Single heals and 1 for group heals. These Arrays are sorted in ascending order (1=>100).

Here is the order your spells would be checked. This is a best guess.

When I use Healat I am referring too the number you used on the above section of code.

The single heal routine runs through the Array looking for the first heal spell that has meets the test condition Target.hps<=Healat in ini file.

So Based on this if you set the Healat in the INI to the same amount the first heal spell that tests to true will get cast, if that spell is ready to be cast, other wise it will cast the next spell, so at best you may only have 2 of the heal spells fire that have the same Healat number and this is all based on spell and global refresh times.

So if you want spell to cast or be checked in a specific order don't use the same Healat.
 
Kiss automatically sorts the heals you don't have to worry about that.

Like DPS kiss can't cast 2 spells at once so you want to stagger them.
 
That actually helps a lot Maskoi thanks. I sort of thought that was going to be the answer. However One question stills remains, what happens if you have the same spell in your heals section for different health %? Just trying to understand the nature of the healing.

I sort of thought healing would execute once during the healing pass by and heal you only once when you go below the amount, if you have the same spelled memmed twice one for 80 and one for 70 how would KA behave in this case?

Glad I was at least on the right track for heal staggering. I have had little to know problems if I stagger the percentages, I usually do them in groups of 3% difference 50, 53, 56, 59 etc. depending on what the heal does.
 
It's really easy. Kiss takes the current health it's trying to heal say 55% and compares it to the list from 100% to 0% then cast the first valid spell it finds less than.

Trying to to use the same spell for different things is going to get you killed.

thanks a lot everyone, much appreciated. i had copied the original ini from one on here and not knowing much about clerics left it pretty much as is, just updated spells for different lvls etc.
have modified it with ideas and examples from yourselfs and so far things are going a lot better, 4 or 5 hours str without any wipe.
