MQ2Vieport - Sets screen to /viewport 0 0 1 1 or a black screen when EQ session is in background. This plugin can help with people that have choppy graphics due to lag.
Commands
Rich (BB code):
/vp on
/vp off

For shits I decided to try and run 2 toons on an old laptop I had layin around using MQ2Viewport. If you haven't tried it let me tell you it worked bloody awesome! I doubt this old laptop would run a single instance well without it. Why waste resources for EQ instances that are not in the forefront? Even if you have a beefy system it makes sense. It's light-weight so you don't have to worry about plugin bloat. It fires if you happen to be viewing something in a browser (I know Raz... let it go) or doing anything else (MySEQ), even a second monitor, that takes window focus. USE IT!

All your UI elements are still visible and active; battle spam, EQBC, HUD, chat windows, MQ2win, etc. It's all there and CPU usage (for me) goes in half or more (even multi-toons). Click on Windows task bar and bam, all (multi box) of them are black.

All I have to do now is figure out the HUD code to test for VP (what is it, 0 0 1 1?) and have a big red ToonName in centerscreen so I can tell who is who lol.

Have you tried it with ISBoxer?

Not yet, I'm new to multi-boxing. Been using MQ2 on and off for years but never did much multi's outside of [particular instanced zone here]. This latest round, was using MQ2 mainly for molo. Only been the last month that I started playing around with multi's. I'm going to start with WinEQ, then I'll look into IS. Need to build a decent rig first...

JimBob, is there a TLO or a command I can test to see if I am in 0 0 1 1 mode?

I didnt know this plugin. THX for sharing gonna try this tonight.

I've been using this plugin with ISBoxer and running 18accounts at once on AMD systems for the last few months. Is great!

Hoosier, it's in the plugin List, at bottom. I will link it here. Oh wait, you're right, it isn't actually available to download at either place. Iirc, it was in my main MQ2 directory. I use the updater so thinking it's part of the auto-pkg. I will reverse-post it (if I can figure out how to send something upstream to the wiki) if you still can't find it.

It's in the zip and auto-updater. hoosier needs some glasses

Apparently it didn't copy in the very latest compile for me. I found it in the three previous compiles. I just finally got rid of my glasses after some 40 years with them. I love modern medical advancements.

i am a fan of this plugin now, the difference on FPS is very noticeable when you are boxing a lot of toons.
Thx again.

Yes, this is an ausome plugin, I abuse it constantly.
Only complaint I could possibly come up with would be that if you leave it "on" and your toon is in the background when it camps/crashes/leaves game, when you log back in and the plugin isn't loaded (or MQ2 isn't loaded) your toons screen could be blacked out, and the only way I have found to return them is to load and run the plugin.
I would call it much of an issue anyways either...

Can the current version of MQ2Viewport get you back to your original viewport size, ie not take the full screen?

For example, if I am running 1920x1080 window but only want VP to be 1280x720?

For me if the toon is blacked out, Clicking on the screen wakes it up for me.

There was one time I had to do a /vp off to regain control, I can't remember a time that didn't work. I merely did a /vp on afterwards and was back on track.

oh maybe i mean why is it not defaulted? i had to click the box in the updater to get it. trying it now

MAYBE not everyone WANTS to use it (as with MANY of the other GREAT plugins), SOMETIMES you got to do a bit of your own REASEARCH on the plugins/macs/extras/bubblegum to know what YOU want use.....

I want KissAssist 9.0 to rule Norrath!

It already does Mask, it already does!

how do I disable viewport without MQ2 loaded?

I've got a session loaded and my screen is all black.

This happens sometimes when I load up a new session of EQ. The fix is /vp on and it will come back to life!

Old thread I RESURRECT thee!!!!

Is there a reason this plugin isn't supported any longer? If so is there a way I can build it myself and use it by chance?

Thanks folks- BB

There's no reason to use this. If you're trying to reduce the GPU demands of background instance, just use the MQ framelimiter.

I do use the built in framelimiter but find this also help with foreground FPS. I'm *that guy* that like max FPS and graphics in games......even my ol'Love EQ,

I'm not complaining. Just like to squeeze out as much as I can from everything.
Thanks Many

BB~
