MQ2SuperDuperReallyGhettoSpeed

Hrmmm. Ok, I'll make a macro and test it out running through a much bigger zone for an hour or two

I was thinking of making it change between /speed 5 and /speed off every 10-15s put it on a timer to see if that works. Something like this:
Rich (BB code):
Sub Main
#event Speed "[MQ2] Speed"
/declare GhettoSpeed int outer 0
/declare GhettoSpeed Timer timer outer 15s
:loop
/if (${GhettoSpeedTimer}<=0  && ${GhettoSpeed}==1) /call GhettoSpeedEvent
/return

Sub event_Speed
/varset GhettoSpeed 1
/speed 5
/return

Sub GhettoSpeedEvent
/speed off
/delay 10
/speed 5
/varset GhettoSpeedTimer 15s
/return

Wait, were you using my version when you got booted or was it one you made? If you're doing what I think you're doing, you need to just use a non-protected version of the speed hack, and 10-15 seconds would be mega, mega laggy.

|/speed .7 = 100 Normal
|/speed 1.09 = 155 Sow/Bih li
|/speed 2.8 = 215 Spirit of Cheetah
|/speed 2.0 = 170 Scale of Wolf
|/speed 5.0 = 256 Selo's

My initial findings, not very precise, but a start. One note, if you have any speed buffs on, this plugin has a kinda stacking effect. i.e. /speed 1.09 + Real Sow is more like scale of wolf speed. I tested several combinations of /speed + real spells. Best thing to do, to keep it simple, would be dont use any speed buffs, use /speed only.
Now, if i could only figure out how to add these commands to your plugin i would be happy.heh. like /speed sow. im new to all this, slowly figuring it out

Yeah, I think I know why it's stacking.

There are 2 locations of RunSpeed in MQ2's structs. I think one of them is an innate modifier and the other is a buff modifier, so I'll tinker with that.

Just an FYI. Used this last few days on my char, observations :

If you are a rogue using hide/sneak this plugin will NOT work. You will be going at run3 speed at best. If you click sneak off and just use HIDE with the hiderun Docrack offset it works well, but not sure if SoS will.

If you have Affiction of the Blood II (Snare - DoD curse from progression), you pretty much will be rooted or if you can move it will be at tree-form speed.

Otherwise is very nice plugin,

Anyone have a clue as to the relative speed of Innate Run? I assume these essentially need to be considered as "speed buffs" in this context.

Run 3 is 30% increase. Base is 100. So 130. Pretty sure it's 10% per rank in run speed and Swift Journey AA's. So would be 110-150 for all 5 ranks.

I've never gone LD while using it.... Used it at tons of different speeds for varying duration in all types of zones~

Hmm wierd. I was using it to chant kite something indoors on my bard and after like 10mins my bard dropped to server select. I thought it was a flook, but I have yet to have the bard kill the damn thing without going LD.

What kinda speed you running at?.......And what exactly are you trying to kill thats taking over 10 minutes? =P

I'm lord of the DoN's think about it :P If you're wondering what kind of stuff I'm killing lol.

Tone how about a brief PM on the basic's of DoN stuff. I'm stretching probably but I have to try. I can box a druid and beast...plus have access to a few other toons.

Tone you don't do compiles....you know you don't deserve votes then. Time to put all your plugin writing skills in the trash plz, thank you.

Redguides is a noob community. 1337 plugins help, but the noobs who make up 60% of the community don't know what to do with them or can't use them.

Being on the polls is getting me on too many people's bad sides. After this month if I win I won't be on any more polls untill February at the least.

I struggled between deciding on Cade or Tone.

I do occasionally use precompiles when Im too lazy to compile after a patch, just until I get off my lazy behind and compile my own plugins, etc..

Cade puts a ton of work into those compiles and plugins, and even tho I'm not a heavy user, I appreciate the amount of time he spends.

Tone does some nice stuff, but I don't really have use for those types of plugins. Also, when I found out that he was withholding l337 |nf0z about DoN and crystal farming, it kinda made me sad.

I think that all of the contributors here, large and small deserve a round of applause. Putting time into this project for the benefit of the community is a laudable thing. Everyone deserves our appreciation.

You all have my personal thanks.

To be totally honest, he was witholding that with very good reason. Posting something here is just as bad as releasing it in public in most cases, because SoE reads these forums, friends hand out exploits to other friends, and hell, I've even seen Soultaker's compile be sold for profit by OTHER PEOPLE (one of my acquaintances bought it for 30 bucks and sent out a copy to a few people he knew, and when I looked at it, it was really obvious it was soultaker's). That's the backing behind Forever-Hacking and KEQ's level system, so you atleast have to contribute before you leech.

Note: There's nothing wrong with leeching from these forums! Just don't go stealing stuff from here and tell all your friends that you're a l33t hacker. (Example of what not to be, Dampiel from Zek, I know he's one of those people)

One of the things that separates this board from the 'pretenders' is the free exchange of information.

Don't be stupid, if you want something to stay un-nerfed, the best bet is to not mention it to anyone, and to commit homicides when others discover it. I could give tons of examples of things being posted that have worked for years, then being nerfed in under a week. Such as:

MGB Automatic AA Refresh for any instant AA
The multiple Un-Attune mobs
Killing things from under the world...

and a ton of junk under the "Nerfed" threads , 70% of it that was exploit info was nerfed soon after release.

Thats why Cronic keeps all his "l337 haxxorz" to himself. Too many morons spread the word of some of the stuff, and it ruins it. Usually when a good exploit is leaked, is when whoever discovered it is done using or, has benefitted enough from it. You can't hold it against a person who doesn't share all of his secrets.

Like someone up there said...probably Cade, RG is primarily a noob community. Yes there are tons of talented people here, but the ratio between contributers and users is probably over 50:1 . Not saying I am a key contributor or anything like that, but there is a good reason for why some people don't contribute. Hell, they could be making major RL $$'s off their secrets...and frankly I rather do that than share and have it ruined within a week anyhow. There is plenty of info available that you probably would have never even heard of, without access to a site like this. And this would make RedGuides worth it to you even if you didn't find out how to 6 Box DoN's all day long making 6,000+ crystals a day.

/rant off.....

Not to be an ass, but the main thing that separates this board from the pretenders is the best of the month poll and the simple fact that all of the pretenders copy this site.

If you want free exchange of information, that's going to be found on a level-based board more often than not.

Kind of wierd I was messing around with this and I left speed on 5 on one of my toons and forgot to turn it off and went semi-afk for like 30mins. When I came back the toon was still logged in, but he wasn't constantly running circles or anything. So I think if I have the bard that's circling turn off speed and then turn it back on every 2mins or so I should be able to avoid LD. Not sure though I'll mess around with it some more.

The reason I withold info is DoN = pays my bills :P I'm not about to give away my $$ I was very hesitant about even mentioning/posting TDoN. That will probably bite me in the ass, but that is also why I didn't post source I can regulate updates :P

Was just wondering if anyone else has been running into problems with this, it had been running perfectly until a few days ago now if i try to use it i get booted, usually instantly, sometimes it will last a few minutes and then boot... just curious to see if anyone else has been experiencing the same thing

Yeah, this shouldn't have broken. I haven't played EQ in a long time though so I'm not sure.

Boots me too now alot. Whether using around speed 2 or speed 5 or anywhere in between. Sometimes takes it few minutes, sometimes 10 seconds after switching speeds. dunno.

You sure you're not loading another speed plugin?

It's this plugin, only thing different is i rename it to just mq2speed on compile. Tried using couple other pre-compiles and boots me too btw. I have the plugin loaded by default and can run for days without issue as long as not activated by using /speed # . No idea when this started cause I didn't activate it a whole lot in the past. It seems it dosen't matter what speed i use either, even if it's lower than my normal run speed, such as /speed .1 , still get kicked after certain time.

hrmmm. Well it only ups your speed every 3 pulses, they must have changed something in EQ then.

I am getting a bug When I turn this plugin on -->/speed 5 then turn it off -->/speed off

After the plugin is turned off I cannot move my toon forward ,its like he is encumbered but only he isnt . I can move backwards howerver. Anybody else having an issue like this? I m getting it on two accounts now.
