Problem - MQ2Navigation - what am I doing wrong

Pretty new to MQ2 and this website, so take it easy on me if this is a stupid question. I've been trying to get MQ2Navigation to work with some of the Gribble macros (dead2all.mac & scoutingahead.mac) and not having any luck at all. I downloaded the proper deadhills.bin file and placed into to my MQ2/Release/MQ2Navigation directory. Whenever I load one of the above macros, it automatically loads MQ2Navigation. Whenever the macro calls the "/navigate target" command, my character just runs in a small circle, essentially spinning around and never makes it to the target. I've also manually attempted a "/nav target" when standing 10 feet away from Gribble with him targetted and get the same result, with multiple characters. I even went so far as to create a new mesh "deadhills.bin" and again placed it in the MQ2/Release/MQ2Navigation directory, but still have the same issue. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? I assume the deadhills.bin mesh that's linked on this website shouldn't experience this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I would love to be able to use this "/nav target" function.

it sounds like you are doing everything correctly. See if basic mq2navigation is working for you.

First go the guild lobby and make a mesh.
/nav target to an PC there

Thanks, I will give that a try. Should I create a new mesh, or use the existing one(s) I downloaded from this website? Also, is there a way to tell if a mesh loaded successfully in MQ2Navigation? I have seen a message indicating it's trying to load one, but have no way of knowing if it was loaded successfully.

Okay, just created a new mesh and loaded plugin with "/plugin MQ2Navigation load". Then selected various random NPCs in the Guild Lobby, did a "/nav target" and I just get a "MQ2Navigation Stopping" message in my MQ2 chat window. Nothing else happens. Any ideas? Also, just now got a crash message after a few tries and have to reload that char. If it makes any difference, I am using ISBoxer.

Try Mq2Nav instead.

Create a folder called MQ2Nav it might exist already

/plugin mq2navigation unload
/plugin mq2nav

Create a mesh with the Meshgenerator.exe and point it to MQ2Nav folder

try /nav target

They share the same commannds.

Funny that you posted that, as I had just done that very thing and MQ2Nav appears to be working so far  I also switched to WinEQ to see if that was the source of the crashes. I've had a couple more, but I believe that was due to MQ2Navigation still being enabled in my MacroQuest.ini file. I set MQ2Navigation=0 instead and hoping to avoid any more crashes on zone-in. One reason I didn't use MQ2Nav instead was the most recent post in the thread http://www.redguides.com/community/showthread.php/37403-MQ2Nav-Beta-by-Brainiac-and-Donation-Kick-Starter/page3?highlight=mq2nav indicated there was an issue with it and that it didn't work correctly with the most recent compile. Again, seems to be working fine (so far) for me now, but that was why I didn't explore using it initially.

Are you using ISBoxer by chance?

This happens to me sometimes when using ISBoxer and MQ2Navigation. Certain places, like PoS Luclin camp, it happens more than others. I have tried everything I know and have not figured out why it does this. When it does happen, I usually load up my boxes in WinEQ and the problem disappears. Every patch it starts to work again and then eventually starts doing the epileptic dance spinning etc.

I just chalk it up to MQ2Navigation being the finicky bitch that it is!

Great, I will just use MQ2Nav from here on out then. The mesh generator time is pretty amazing compared to MQ2Navigation :) I really appreciate the speedy responses btw. You guys do a great job maintaining this site.

Yes, I was in fact using ISBoxer, as I had been using it for years with DAOC. I just installed WinEQ and going to give that a try instead. Much of the functionality I needed has been replaced by the plugins on this site, especially MQ2EQBC.

I had a feeling you were using ISBoxer. That is the only time it ever happens to me.
