Using the latest test build, no matter what i try i cannot get nav meshes to load at all. ive deleted and rebuilt them, tried using all the different MQ2Nav builds i could find.

really stuck on whats going on with it.

thanks in advance.

go to your release folder and delete the mq2nav folder
open up mesh generator
click file > settings
point the EQ path to your everquest folder
for navmesh folder point it to your core mq2 root release folder. don't point it to release > mq2nav or anything.
create a mesh
you should now see it in release>mq2nav
in game plugin mq2nav
/nav ui
click reloadmesh

followed your directions maskoi. just keeps coming up unknown_zone. in differant zones on differant characters and differant computers.

did you have any issues generating the mesh and did you hiot the save mesh button?

yeah /nav ui brings up the window. the mesh generator works fine, no errors and saves the mesh. the plugin loads fine, when it goes to load the mesh for the zone it comes up with ERROR:UNKOWN_ZONE.

You're on the test server? Unless you're using a version specifically built for the test server its not going to work.

I know I didn't produce one, and I don't know if somebody else provided one without my knowledge.

yes im on the test server, ive always used the one that comes in the compile and its always worked untill now

We always used just the one for both test and Live. Why would it matter if they are on test?

It work if there are any differences in the data structures between Live and Test.

I put in pattern recognition to detect the offsets needed for the hooks to make the plugin work, but it still depends on MQ2's data structure being built for the proper .exe.

this is really no different than trying to use the wrong mq2 after patch day. Some things may work, but thats coincidence, really.

Ok. Thanks maskoi and brainiac. So it should work again when the live servers get the same update.
