Question - MQ2Melee - Coding breakdown (1 Viewer)

Hey guys,

Just getting into the flavor and realizing the capabilities. I am admittedly pretty darn cheap but can see the instant benefits in this, if for nothing else, the MQ2Melee aspect.

Have your, or are aware of anyone, who has been able to replicate without using MQ2? I'm really curious as to the anchor (/stick) aspect and how it is done, and particularly the coding behind. As mentioned before, I am cheap, and wondering if anyone has had any success in mimic'ing it through a lesser program (such as Auto Hot Key).

Is the logic behind it to take mob position x y z, and your position x y z, factor in the direction the mob is facing, then math it out? How does one draw the direction the mob is facing via Authotkey if so. so much potential.

Main reason I am asking, with Covid things are interesting, and am having a newborn soon. I'd like the ability to enhance the gaming while chasing mobs down, holding baby+bottle. I'm sure theres plenty of good uses as well that many have mentioned and am just starting out now.

Are you saying you want to be able to stick behind a mob without having MQ2 loaded on your computer at all? If that is the case, then Im not sure.

But if you have base MQ2, the actual stick logic in MQ2Melee is coming from MQ2MoveUtils which is part of the base MQ2. There are ALOT of things you can do with the /stick command and MQ2MoveUtils in general.

Tazor - Are you saying there's a way to F2P MQ2? I defintely missed that boat.

Ok Tazor I see it now. If I had a MQ2 compile somewhere I could download via the 'Public Plugin' section. Now.. how do I get my hands on a free compile? I see the download requires level 2 access which I haven't earned yet.

However, you would still need VIP access for the plugins which, I believe is a $10/month donation to EQMule last time I checked.

The question would be, how good are your coding skills if you wanted to make good use of a home compile of MQ2.

Well, the coding I've done to toy with games historical has been little gimmicks via AHK. I'm not claiming (nor would I ever) to be a super coder. I know enough to get by, get GUIs onscreen to depict rotation priority, macro priority, etc and some other clever gimmicks. Nothing anywhere CLOSE To this. I saw the /stick on some of the Youtube instantly had this feeling of envy.
