yeah not sure what to say there, it just doesn't have anything to do with it heh.

the "should I stand around and do nothing, or do stuff until i can" was definitely something considered, and i have a comment in the code about it from 2023. I chose that standing around and doing nothing to wait was less favorable

All new TLP'ers. Do note that bards don't get a mez that works on mobs from level 45 to 53. That is definitely a reason for the feeling of "my bard isn't mezzing" or "he mezzes sometimes". there is a song that does, but it is not available on Velious.

I sure do wish there was a way to make my Bard prioritize mezzing when there are multiple mobs. Seems like he only casts when the other mobs start hitting him.

as mentioned he checks if he can mez before he checks anything else

yeah that seems like a problem lol

Every time I use /relocate lobby the bard interrupts it. The whole group, all using CWTN, goes except for the bard. Ill click a gate potion and that works. There is nothing in the MQ2Bard Plugin Output window, Relocate shows :: We are going to /stopsong and /twist off. to use our relocate items, and the spell is interrupted at the very end of its cast time. It may be a Relocate issue, I just wasn't sure in which one to post.

Yep. I talked about this a few times here and in the relocate thread. (Mentioning this in case you wanted to go and read about it)

It is a relocate problem that is eq problem related.

I don't have a solution ATM. Just pause bard to relocate

I renewed my subscription after a couple years. did enchanter and bard, enchanter would load, bard cant find plugin. tried to put it into the plugin folder and nothing. please assist me =)

Go to the overview tab for each resource click watch. Use Redfetch click the big easy update button it will put everything where it needs to go don’t try to download manually.

this is incorrect - if you have access to an additional resource due to purchase/access it is automatic - you don't have to do anything special (watching)

but should absolutely use redfetch

Either blind, dumb, or unable to search worth a crap.

have a few questions to help my experience with bard.

Is there any way to set a pulling song? instead of him face pulling?

i am willing to bet it is a pebkac error. but when in camp set to assist he sits between his 3 song casts. i would prefer he stand there looking pretty

i have attempted to play with the loadout modes melee/meleedot/caster etc i assume its due to lack of aa and spells but it does not appear to change anything

the pulling and spam sit/stand are the big ones for me

nah - in a "dezeran's world" what would you pull with?

Q. I don't want it to do Lively, Aria, War March / War Chorus during downtime.
A. You can turn off "ActiveDowntime". The reason it exists is so you can you be "ready" for combat, rather than having to wait several seconds to get all your buffs to be active.

yep, available spells/songs for loadouts are extremely dependent on level range
for example, for gem3 if you are melee/caster we load spitefullyric if you are casterdots/meleedots we load colddot, or tanksupport we do accelerando - you dont get accelerando until like 88 or something

So just wondering if anybody has a good way to handle invis on bard using MQ2Bard before they get the aainvis. Can't figure out any way that isn't crazy janky and unreliable.

gonna paste from a couple other times i answered:

probably just pause the plugin and then sing it manually.

A spell that you want to continue to sing but maybe/maybe not break on combat or invis fading what tricky, so we don't automatically do it

or another time i gave this answer:

no - and unfortunately it is likely that it wont due to the nature of how their invis works. because the ways we determine "hey should we break invis to do stuff" would conflict with a "hey sing this song" and having to issue a command for "bard keep singing this invis song until i issue a command to stop it" is more steps than just you as the player clicking on the song (since it would pulse invis, and we wouldn't break that invis unless our conditions to break invis are met, and then since the plugin isn't being asked to sing the song, it wouldn't reinvis you)
you can byos and memorize it (or if you have an empty gem just memorize it - and then i would pause the plugin, manually sing the song (either by clicking it, or using dannet to tell the bard to click it /melody # where # is the gem # of the song), and then unpause so your bard can chase

thanks for the answer, totally get the logic. Didn't think it could, would, or should do anything natively. That's pretty much how I was doing it, but was using mq2twist which does some weird things if used along with the plugin.

we dont use mq2twist or do any interacting with out *other* than if you're using the aainvis command we do a /stoptwist with a comment "// if this wretched plugin is loaded, "stop twisting and don't hold"" so I dunno how to answer "weird things if used along with the plugin" - but if you're trying to use it while not already invis, then yeah i could see how you can have conflicts if we're trying to do stuff - best bet is to pause then do your twist or melody and then unpause

It's clunky so far, but i pause bards, unmem s spell, manually mem selos invis song, the send a command to do /twist 2 (spell gem i mem it on).

same principal for fights i want to sing what i want to sing, i just do /twist 1 2 3 4 5, it overwrites CWTN pluggin, or at least for a while.

It would cool if we could have a toggle that says "don't sing anything", then we can manually /twist whatever we want, without having to fight with the plugin to keep us invis, for example.

A good example of when this would be used is during simp0le travel - normal bard chase misses selos often, causing everyone to slow down momentarily. toggle bard songs off, manually /twist x, then off to the races.

you can /plugin mq2bard unload or /brd pause on

there is not and won't be a "be a bard but don't do bard stuff" button

how would you recommend to have a bard chase the main assist, but twist custom songs? Like selos song of travel?
"twist custom songs" - that's not something that we're going to do. so you'd not be running mq2bard - and you'd want something like chase.Lua instead

so no way to run the one song selos song of travel using mq2bard and still chase? I'll look into chase.lua
we're doing the thing again when i do my very best to answer you directly with specificity but then there's some miscommunication.

I've done the pause / unpause to chase, but mq2bard takes over often times, especially after zoning it seems. But, i type in /twist x, is there a better command to tell the bard to sing a song but not have mq2bard take over, and still chase?

My current solution is to do my "come to me" macro (pauses everyone, everyone comes to me). Then, click my hotkey to make bards twist selos song of travel (/bct bards //twist 2), then tell everyoen to stick to me. sitck works ok, not as good as chase, and better in some areas (like over water!).

Then, when i encounter a mob, i click my "set camp" button that tells the bards to twist selos one time (ovwerrites the invis), now everyone can do stuff, set camps, attacks, etc.

But, stick is not ideal in many areas where chase is superior.
