Question - Melodious Truncheon, Charasis drop - mezzes up to level 999?

I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge about this item: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=5883

Lucy and MQ2 says it mezzes up to level 999, unresistable from what I can tell. Of course, with auto-attack on and no MQ2 to back you up (turn attack off when a mob is mezzed) it should be quite useless. But if it works, that's maybe not the case for the people here?

Only lasts 1 tick? 1% memblur? Only thing I can think of would be causing threat haha.

Given the casting time (2.5) and duration (6 - 11s depending on server tic), it *appears* it could last indefinitely and would never be resisted with a -1000 resist mod like OP said. That said... I would be amazed that such a crazy powerful item has survived in game that long. So, I'm guessing there is some catch. I might have to camp this for my Bard and try it out (unless someone else has already gotten around to it?).

In some places there are mobs above the current in-game Mez level cap of 108 (even for Enchanters) so it would still be a situationally useful item in that regard; the resist check is the only thing that would really make it useful on a day to day basis if it's able to be chained.

Good find if it's as good as it looks on paper.

As stated, it's a combat proc. But it's the best mez in the game as far as I know, which is why I'm thinking it would only be useful with correctly set holyshits or the likes for the whole group, and even so it would probably be very situational.

Bard only item, but if it worked to interrupt casters then it would be awesome in TDS zones where the mobs mezz, dot, slow etc.

it does interrupt casters but the biggest value is pvpwise. on red servers its unresitable spell interrupt!
