Question - Mage DPS sucks

Have been reading some of the mage guides and they seem to recommend casting spells in order to receive stacking benefits.

Example " It's important to note that the intent of this weave is that it rotate in the order RS -> Volley -> Chaotic -> Spear -> Chaotic. It is important that Volley gets the Conjurer's Synergy proc, and that you get two Chaotics per rotation. I find a lot of Mages have this rotation set up, but because of lag, recast timers, or other issues, they end up casting it completely in the wrong order which defeats the point of the lineup. "

Is there any way to do this with KissAssist?

Thank you! Been out of EQ for 8 years. Huge learning cure for Game and MQ2.

With basic MQ2 info for conditions you can check if spells are available to cast. You can also check yourself for certain buffs before casting certain nukes. You can't see what order you have cast spells though. If you custom coded a macro, it could record the cast order, but that's not info that MQ2 or KA would save by default.

Quick note on Volley vs Spear(110) vs Spear(105): Volley is a raid nuke spell, because its dmg is scaled by how many pets/swarmpets are on the aggro list of the mob you're nuking. For groups this often makes it a subpar choice for rotation except on named fights where every toon has popped their swarmpets. There was a long discussion about it awhile back in the RG forums and people came up with some clever conditions to check the pet count near the mob. See SA_krycek's 110 mage for a Volley condition example. (Volley does give a nice pet buff via AA to all nearby pets though, so it can be worth casting just to refresh that particularly in a pet heavy group.)

For a group you'd do good DPS running RS->Chaotic->Spear(110)->Spear(105) and spamming RS/Chaotic as available. I like to open with Arcronite Malosinata too to try to land the Malo debuff. See SA_krycek's ini for a good condition check for malo landing with that spell (above.)

Simple cascading series based on cooldown timers: So you could have DPSOn=2 (KA works down the DPS list over & over based on what's available) and something like this:
  1. Reckless Servant set to cast anytime it is available (no condition)
  2. Volley cast if (R. Servant is on cooldown)
  3. Chaotic cast if (R. Servant & Volley are on cooldown)
  4. Spear cast if (R. Servant & Volley & Chaotic are on cooldown)
  5. Cast lower level Spear if (everything above is on cooldown)
INI:
DPSOn=2

DPS4=Reckless Servant|99
DPS5=Volley of Many|99
DPS6=Chaotic Inferno|99
DPS7=Spear of Molten Arcronite|99
DPS8=Spear of Molten Shieldstone|99

You can add conditions that check for the Conjurer's Synergy song buff too, and tell Chaotic/Spear not to cast if they see it to save it for Volley. It could slow down some DPS though, as Volley is 9 sec refresh and if you proc Synergy, you may not want to wait the full refresh. For groups, I personally just let the Synergy and Chaotic procs buff the next nuke, whatever it is. In a raid, adding the 50% (pre-crit calc) to the 44K Volley dmg is pretty big though.

Here is one that does the Conjurer's check, debuffs with Malo nuke and uses Volley if your pet needs the buff or there are 10+ pets around the mob.
INI:
DPS3=Arcronite Malosinata|99|cond1
DPS4=Reckless Servant|99
DPS5=Volley of Many|99|cond2
DPS6=Chaotic Inferno|99|cond3
DPS7=Spear of Molten Arcronite|98|cond3
DPS8=Spear of Molten Shieldstone|99|cond3

cond1=${Target.ID} && ${Range.Between[80,99:${Target.PctHPs}]} && ${Target.BuffsPopulated} && !${Target.Maloed.ID}
cond2=!${Me.PetBuff[Theft of Essence Effect IX]} || ${SpawnCount[pcpet loc ${Target.X} ${Target.Y} radius 30]}>9
cond3=!${Me.Song[Conjurer's Synergy].ID}

My mage's laptop is out of commission, so didn't have a chance to test these.

Maskoi's "Monster Crush" mage ini is great DPS and super simple. SA_krycek's also looks good.

Wow! Thank you very much. Mage is only 91 but give me some things to work with.

I've tried all of them.. @tc215215 mage ini is for 110 but I used it earlier, just skipped the anti summoned spell and downgraded the other lines. It was a 50% improvement in dps over the others.

The last time I did Fell Foliage group mission, my mage parsed at 550k dps. It beat out the zerk by about 50k and the zerk had bard adps.
