Hi everyone, glad to be posting again. Anyway, getting onto the post, after getting bored of my hunter, leveling her to 70 and raiding abit, I have re-rolled a rogue. Getting her to 25, I started to pick pocket EVERYTHING, lots of cool little things you can get, I came across [Lucky Charm] (Link:http://www.thottbot.com/i5373). After reading around to find out if this did anything other then make some gloves in leatherworking. So, I read on, and found this site.Link:http://vnboards.ign.com/wow_general_board/b19789/88658383/p1)
Reading the comments, no one had acually try to figure if it was true, if the charm would bring you good luck. People said it did, but nothing that acually made me believe them.

So, I took matters into my own hands. I started trying to figure out if they could be lucky or not. I looked for a way to find out if this was true. I put it to 3 tests. The first was a roll test, the second was a loot test, and the third was a crit chance test.

ROLLS

I saw in the IGN.com post that someone said I would have to roll 1,000,000 times to acually find out if this was true. No, I dont have THAT much time to sit there and just keep rolling and rolling, so I lowered the number to 10,000. I did this 3 times so 30,000 /rolls. One with no charm, one with the charm, one with the charm+a lucky rabits foot. I made it so there were only 10 different ways I could roll, 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71-80, 81-90, and 91-100. And here is what I came up with.

Without any charms or Rabits feet what so ever:
1-10= 1,799
11-20= 894
21-30= 3,096 (The hell... thats up there)
31-40= 734
41-50= 979
51-60= 441
61-70= 709
71-80= 319 (Really low)
81-90=948
91-100= 227 (Really,really low)

With the [Lucky Charm]
1-10= 791
11-20= 1,257
21-30= 808
31-40= 435
41-50= 657
51-60= 1,583
61-70= 1,095
71-80= 1,498
81-90= 760
91-100= 1,116

With the [Lucky Charm]+[Rabits Foot]
1-10= 791
11-20= 567
21-30= 1,045
31-40= 786
41-50= 1461
51-60= 1,074
61-70= 677
71-80= 796
81-90= 1792
91-100= 1011

Ok, now that you have seen the numbers, I will simplify it, by these rules:
1-10= one point
11-20= two points
21-30= three points
31-40= four points
41-50= five points
51-60= six points
61-70= seven points
71-80= eight points
81-90= nine points
91-100= ten points

So we just multiply ALL These number to get thier "point values" to compare...

No Charms or Feet= 41669 is the total score

Only the Charm= 56644 is the total score

Charm + foot= 59298

My head hurts from all that math, but any way, there it is, as you see, there is a big improvement, maybe if I tryed this all again it would be 100% different, BUT, im not doing that again, feel free to do it, and post your results, but im sticking with these for now.

LOOT

Ok, loot is really hard, and can be different and random at all times, so I took the most easy way I could think of, and got my 70 mage friend to get a lucky charm and a foot, and test it by running through RFC in 1 pull over and over again. He did it 30 times after taking a break every 5 because you cannot go into the instance again for an hour. We counted up the greens he got each run, with no charm, a charm, and a charm + a foot. Here are the results.

Over all with no charm for 10 runs= 98 greens

Over all with a charm for 10 runs= 113 greens

Over all with charm and foot for 10 runs= 183 greens

Seems that the charms have won again. Im not saying EVERY time you do this, it could be completly different if you did it again, but im looking at the results of the rolls and the loot and thinking this might just be true.

CRIT CHANCE

Ok, I had no idea how to get started with this, crit chance is very hard to figure out, and hard to find out if you are doing it more or less. So, if anyone has a better idea then this one, please tell me and I will try it. Anyway, I got my good 70 rogue friend to tag along with me. With my 25 rogue I tried all 3 different way, {No charm, charm, charm+foot} grinding on mobs for 2 hours each, counting every crit I got, WITH AUTO ATTACK, Also repected and put my points in nothing so my talents couldnt make my information corrupt. I took off all my gear, and made sure my weapon did not have any stats what so ever. Ive lost my exact count, but I have the percents writen down in a note pad so here they are.

No charm= 27.6% over all 3.

Charm= 31.1% over all 3.

Charm+foot= 41.3% over all 3.

Holy man, can this be true? I didnt believe it for 1 second, so with my rogue friend, I got him to do the same test, only auto attack, level 70 mobs, also, he took off all his gear, made sure his weapons didnt have stats on them, and repected so his talents would not get in the way, and he did, and the results were... well this:

No charm= 23.3% over all 3.

Charm= 48.9 over all 3.

Charm+foot= 27.8% over all 3.

Abit different but still, the no charm was the lowest, I still didnt believe this... but all the data was there, you dont have to believe it, for all you know I just made up the data, but you will never find one of my characters without 5 [Lucky Charms] and a stack of rabits feet in my inventory. I do not take this very seriously, as I dont think blizzard would put this into the game just to be funny, or to make the game have some mystery in it.. but hey, doesnt hurt does it? Thanks for listening to me and my little story and any comments would be awesome.

If that's true then wouldn't the item alter the game script for you alone? (Sorry, I have no idea how it works, I'm just guessing.)
