Problem - Losing exp from death

Hey guys. Had an issue a couple of times now. I run a group AFK sometimes, not often, overnight maybe once or twice a month to boost some heroic toons or what not.

Both times i have done it i have encountered a problem.

At sometime while AFK some toons in my group have obviously died (i am assuming some pet tanking issues i have observed while being at the KB)

However, i have come back to the group being operational (or a toon sitting at bind) and not having a corpse at all. 3 days ago i AFKed for about 4.5 hours. came back and the groups pet tanker was at bind, campfired and no corpse in zone. also a dps in the group was in the zone with no corpse and full exp loss. Like the corpse was looted and not rezed.

There is a cleric merc and an actual cleric in the group and auto rez is on and working (observed).

Has anyone had this issue? Know how to avoid it? other than not dying! lol. Not a huge issue, as its the risk you get for AFKing but annoying none the less

1st thing you need to identify what is actually happening so you can fix it, auto rez does not ALWAYS work! If your corpse is sitting too long it goes poof! What I do is bind my team at the camp, yeah you run the risk of chain dying but I found more often then not my guys get back up, buff up and make up the loss. A good tip is never set your camp at an agro point, pull mobs to a safe spot so your team can recover in peace and get back to work.

Try turning on "/mqlog on" when you're setting up for a while.

If it happens again, take a look through your log files (located in Release > Logs) to try to find out what's actually happening.

Real clerics rez during combat, merc clerics do not, so if your tank is ending up at bind it could be that your cleric goes down, then your tank goes down and the tanks cleric rezed your cleric just before your tank zoned to bind. But before the merc rezzes your tank. try autocleric if your cleric is having issues, it will make a huge difference!

Have been having this problem since first using MQ2 and KA, currentl have a sk who has lost 3 levels due to this. most often happens when my toons have wiped and been no campfire up. ( alth why no campfire am not sure as have it set on shammy).
since ive not been able to find any way to stop it ive just got used to it being one of the drawbacks of KA.

note. i have this problem with both merc and real clerics in group, also a shammy and while using both autocleric and KA on cleric.

actualy writing this has made me wonder if the shaman and call of the wild could be the overall cause. will check into that.

I have also seen corpses disappear when i campfire a toon back manually and also if a toon has gone ld and i log him back in corpse goes poof, all well within the normal corpse time limit.

Just for clarification, is it only happening while AFKing, or does it happen while actually running the group too?

Not sure what level toons your running with (low lvl cleric have lower %xp back rezes), so you could check you rez with spell you have set in the clerics ini to make sure you are useing the correct one.

The corpse poof before rot time is usually due to a rez of some sort, not shaman call of the wild. Have NEVER has call make a corpse go poof and I use it all the time.

If you are actually "losing" corpses before they should rot, then there may be something bigger going and you might be have other issues outside of MQ.

You may need to test this without MQ running. You could also check shadowrest to see if they appeared there for some reason.

That all said, Death/XP loss are things that you take a chance at having happen just in the nature of AFKing. If you leave the keyboard, you take the chance of things happening. The programs are great but, NOT infallible.

I used to have all kinds of crap happen but now I set my clerics bind to the camp and he respawns after 5 min rezzes everyone and gets back to doing what I need him to do

I tried your suggestion raz. Binding clr to camp, however it seems due to getting my ench working well. There have been no deaths in 5 days, except for my second wiz I am leveling, probably got lvl agro and got one rounded

Call of the Wild works pretty fine, @scotsbiker. 9/10 times, after my tank dies, CotW get the tank back to tanking, before the (auto)cleric even starts to rezz.

yeah works fine but seems that corpse often goes poof before the merc cleric rezz's them. have also noticed on shaman that merc cleric wont rez him at all. all this has been hapening more or less since day 1 of using KA so doesnt bother me overly much as its only a inconvenience not a game spoiler.

Merc Clerics have ALWAYS been stingy with their rezzing of characters that don't directly pay their wages. They're like
"He don't pay me, why should I rez him, besides, the longer I wait, the more I make for doing nothing."
I have always had the best luck with merc Clerics when they belong to the tank (but it can pose its own risks.

Maybe we should contact their Union and complain.

Not sure what the issue could be, but in my group my Monk will get killed on occasion, but the cleric is quick to rez her. Same goes with my Mage she get hammered quite a bit, but always gets a rez.

May require more information or debug log of when this is happening.
