Version of KissAssist.mac?
11.001
When did your problem start?
I just want to know how to use kiss assist and loot option properly
Character Role?
  1. Assist
What class is having this issue?
  1. Shaman
How often does this issue occur?
Always
Can you reproduce the issue?
yes
I currently use normal EQ advloot to loot stuff for me
my shammy uses kiss and i set him as main looter
kiss has a loot option that i never used
I recently saw a tds raid era rare drop and if I hadnt paid attn the shammy would not have looted it
what do I have to do for shammy to loot an item that I havent looted cause i havent seen before
i saw the loot ini but not sure how to add an item in there, in case i ever see another item and i may miss it

There are 3 looting things in EQ/MQ2:
  • Advanced Looting - "/advloot" to open window then adjust loot settings to auto-loot all or whatever you want. Individual item description windows also have check boxes now (AN/AG/NV/AR) thanks to eqmule, so if you get a item link from chat or bazaar you can add it that way.
  • NinjaLoot - This was the older way to have KA handle looting. Uses the Loot.ini file to decide what to do with items. If you turn on looting in the KA ini, this is what it tries to use (I think.)
  • MQ2autoloot - Plugin by Plure that handles looting really well. I think this is the current preferred way to handle loot. Uses same Loot.ini but has some more options like assigning items to certain classes.
So I think the simple answer is do /advloot and turn on auto-loot all on the Shammy.

Longer term though, I'd set up the autoloot plugin. It will auto pickup things you don't recognize based on your defaults and then try to figure out if you sell it later. It can auto-sell certain items when you're at a vendor or even auto-barter certain items if you want. You can set Loot.ini defaults like:
Code:
[A]
|======================================================================|
Animal Venom=Destroy
Auburn Hero's Forge Plate Hands Ornament=Destroy
Alkalai Loam=Sell
Axe of the Exalted=Quest|1
Argent Idol=Quest|10
August Ore=Keep
Amorphous Cohort's Sleeves=Gear|Classes|WAR|NumberToLoot|1|
Amorphous Cohort's Helm=Gear|Classes|SHM|NumberToLoot|1|
Amorphous Cohort's Gauntlets=Gear|Classes|BRD|NumberToLoot|1|
Amorphous Cohort's Wristguard=Gear|Classes|WAR|BRD|NumberToLoot|2|

So for the above Loot.ini:
  • Animal Venom or the Ornament - Autoloot would take them off the corpse to clean up and destroy them to save bag space.
  • Alkalai Loam - Autoloot would bag them. Later when you have a vendor window open, "/autoloot sell" would sell all Alkalai Loams in your bags (unless you'd specified certain bag names's to ignore in the loot.ini)
  • Axe of the Exalted - Autoloot defaults no-drop items to Quest (you can change that if you want) so it would try to give each toon in the group one Axe. You can edit the defaults.
  • Argent Idol - Autoloot would try to give each group member 10 of the Idols to finish whatever turn-in requires ten. You can set the number to whatever you need.
  • August Ore - Autoloot would bag these, but would not sell them to a vendor during "/autoloot sell"
  • Amorphous Cohorts - Autoloot would attempt to assign 1 of these to the noted classes and then give 2 of the bracers to warrior or bards in the group. Very useful when you're after a certain item for a certain toon, like new powerleveled guys and you don't want other toons to accidentally take it.

Do you need to turn off the in game looting (advloot) to use the plugin loot?
does one interfere with the other?
does the plugin work only with a macro that calls on it?
advloot doesnt require you to move to every corpse, does the plugin move to every corpse
I think thats why I didnt use Ninjaloot

If you've set an item in AdvLoot, mq2autoloot will use that setting (always need/greed/no or whatever) instead of any setting for the item in Loot.ini - So you can use a combo of both, but it's probably easier to mq2autoloot.

MQ2AutoLoot is a plugin, so it is active every time you start Vanilla/MQ2. It will handle looting even if you're not running a macro like KissAssist. You have to load it once "/plugin mq2autoloot" or check it in the updater's plugin loading options. After that, MQ2 will always load it for all toons until you un-check or unload it "/plugin mq2autoloot unload"

ninjaloot is an include type file. So it only runs if another macro is calling it, like KA with looting turned on. Ninja & mq2autoloot are a one-or-the-other option, they'd be trying to do the same action so you could get a conflict running both.

All these loot options seem to use the advloot feature of showing all items in the advloot window, so you don't have to move to corpses for any of the loot.
