Question - Launcher Updates Question

Quick question, does the Launcher take longer to update than MQ2? Last patch day, I had a friend on and using MQ2 hours before my Launcher was able to update it...it just said "Patch day unavailable."

I can't figure out how to manually update MQ2, is there a workaround for this? Thanks much.

if everquest .exe it requires a re-compile of macroquest - since we use VeryVanilla compile, mq2 has to be patched by eqmule, then Redbot sprinkles all the VV goodness on top of it for the VV release.
the VV launcher is the correct and appropriate way to update VeryVanilla

I think he meant that he can see that the Compile has been patched but his buddy doesnt use the Launcher and just downloads the files, and then gets up and running while he has to wait for the patcher to have the files uploaded to it maybe? i noticed this last week also, Compile was up but wasnt letting me update in the Launcher

Thanks Sic. So just wait for the Launcher to update? Do I need to do anything in particular besides wait and hit update when it becomes available?

Nope, just the same subbed version I have. But he doesn't use the launcher, I don't believe. He just updates the old fashioned way and was able to get up and running many hours before me.

there isn't an "old fashioned way" any longer - the old patcher thing doesn't work - you can however download the zip (if you are lvl 2 and the zip is available - but that would mean the patch is available)

I would suggest closing your patcher and re-starting it again next time - it might have been acting silly
