Problem - KA Toons Assisting at 100% when targeting npcs

I have my toons sometimes when I target a fresh npc and it is at 100% ant not engaged yet they will run and attack it. Their assist level is at 98(I dropped it down from 99, to test and they still do it.) and all the dps entries are at 98 as the highest.

Any thoughts?
 
I want them to attack on assist but assist at the correct hp % not 100%. Is that not what [Melee]AssistAt=98 is for? They will try to kill quest NPCs also. And I only have KA running. This is a new issue. I basically have been having to /mqp after each pull so I can target and pull the mobs without the monks and bard running out and attacking things.

Also after a /backoff toggle on and off reset they sometimes don't reengage.

/assist on or off is a basic Everquest command. It has nothing to do with MQ or automation. It sounds to me like you have it set to on which means your characters will immediately attack as soon as your group MA targets a mob. This is really fun if you are doing quests!
 
I'll have to check if that's on but what's causing them to run to the NPC and perform the /stick and start running the KA functions? Is KA seeing that autoattack is on and thinking its time to act regardless of mob HP %? Even if assist is on, that just turns autoattack on. More or so curious.
I'll check and see if turning that off fixes anything when I get back on but it's been working fine for a while till recently.

Sadely it is still happening. It also not on every mob target. I am trying to find the pattern of how or what triggers it every time but basically sometimes I can target a quest NPC maybe 100 units away and then they go into attack mode, running to the npc. Other times I can target a kos npc same distance and they do the same.
I did /dggae /assist off so all of the toons were off.
 
Back to option 1 then, you've got other automation running at the same time. One immediate possibility is UseMQ2Melee= ???

Normally I keep that set to Zero. If set to anything other than zero it might control your characters in addition to KA.

Otherwise, do a /plugin list command and review all your loaded plugins.

And I just thought also you might want to try /lua stop to ensure you don't have a Lua loaded!
 
I don't use MQ2Melee, that is 0 and unloaded.
No loaded plugins other than default.
Only Lua I had running was guildclicky and did /Lua stop. Still they launch themselves at targets randomly when we are not engaged and npc is at 100%.
 
Is it happening in instances that scale with level? I've seen this where when you first target a mob in these instances the hp quickly goes from like low to 100% and your dps will notice before it hits 100% and attack. Try agroing from outside of melee range with an arrow and they shouldn't do it then.

I have seen that also but its just not on initial. Its randomly. I am noticing it may be distance based as I started pulling with a bow. If I get too close is when it I see it happening.
 
FWIW, I have seen this happen in a different macro, for almost the last year now. Much like Sigur said, it often seems to be that the mob HP bar on initial target is empty or 0%, then jumps up to 100%., then of course the boxes will assist and override their assistat percent.
Since it happens across different macros (at least two of them!), I'd wager either something in the base game changed (or lag?) to cause that, or something in MQ is going "too fast" and needs to slow down so assist works properly.
 
I think I might have fixed it, I had melee distance set at 75, not sure where that value came from maybe default ini or something from someone elses's ini that I built from.
Camp radius is at 30 on boxes and meleedistances is 35, and on tank camp is 35 and meleedist is 35. The boxes are no longer jumping at 100% but waiting till 98% to engage.

So far looks ok but will continue to watch.
