Question - Is there a TLP Plat Exploit?

I'm sure many of you know about the craziness going on with the TLP server economies ATM, and I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any exploit or dupe that may be going on that's triggering this? I don't do a lot of farming for plat so I'm not the richest player around normally. Lately I think I've become a Pauper among Paupers... If anyone knows what's going on and wouldn't mind sharing so I'm not left in the .01% of the ultra poor, I'd appreciate it!

If there is no ones going to tell you but look at the people selling plat on TLP and ask them

With krono duping thats going on id honestly not buy any krono from anyone. Someone mentioned a plat duping on rathe other day on tlp servers but honestly anyone wanting to know to do it doing it or done it just shouldnt belong here or any other mq site because in my opinion they dont care for others mqing to do something so dumb to bring attention to mqers

Would not be easy to dupe kronos they're not treated like other items in the game. However plat i could see it but i think its all bullshit. People who scream dupe don't realize something they see stats of the total amount of plat in the game at any given time if that number all of the sudden jumped up several million on TLP they would know. Btw each krono is tied to a transaction ID when its purchased they would notice a few thousand more all of the sudden appearing. Of course the people screaming dupe don' care for common sense.


Do you really think they can't pull up the database and see the exact number of plat circulating on any server at any time ? Because they can.

I concur with william12, doubtful one could dupe Kronos and get away with it. Plat and items that's been done million different ways over the years and eventually it gets caught but I don't think it is happening here.

I like the theory of people exploiting transfer mechanism to LJ and Ragefire by making a transfer to a Live server, loading up on plat/old school items then petitioning that they made a wrong transfer and Customer Service making a mistake of transferring the character from the live server instead of TLP server.

ya but they read the threads on EQ forums a simple call to the Customer Support staff would answer the question.

Btw it's not easy to get them to believe you picked the wrong server People try it with FV everyday.

was a rough guess , it was mentioned on eq forums about kroon duping ,and there was also talk here someone mentioned getting suspended after purchasing some kroon I lost 2 accounts for purchasing 40 krono from a dude on not said site , the person I purchased them from refunded them. but my 2 accounts were banned. this was in the length of that test server clitch era where you could get everything for like 50 cent or something like that was recently

Even if there was a plat dupe on the progression servers, id suggest not taking part. GM's are on the path and hitting people with the ban hammer. Also I suggest being cautious with the super low price krono being sold. Buying dupe krono can cause your account to be banned as well! Do research on that seller first!

Seriously doubt there is a krono dupe they're not normal items and the server treats them different.


If there was thousands of people are already caught up in it you really think they're going to ban people who received the kronos when they have no link to the exploiter ? Believe it when more people here or at bugs are posting it because them are the 2 sites most likely to be buying them.

I have to agree. There has been so many kronos filtered into TLP servers from people mass buying them from other sites and them being used to buy gear and plat. It just happen to be wrong timing on a lot of things for it to show up. Can't tell you how many sites were all out of kronos cause people were buying in HUGE bulk quality which i'm talking about 100's. Hell even ourplat was cleaned out and stoneface(owner) was sc

People farm the hell out of ragefire collect plat, kronos for the last month or 2. People have been stocking up on Kronos, and plat and when the new server gets released they move over and here is the huge influx. Your going from a server which was already developed and the market was already formed to a new server which the market has not been molded and shaped. You can blame the free server transfers which caused the market to blow up.

Kronos cannot be dupe, plat maybe but I don't think that was the case.

way back in 2001 or so they had an expansion where you could buy the parts to make a bow, then sell the complete bow back to the vendor for 8g profit, we macro'd the shit outta that and I made my first 1million plat! hehehehe

Heck, you could make some fish steaks in Neriak for a profit too around 2002-2003.

There was a big nerf/fix to all the tradeskills some time in 2004-2005 which fixed prices so nothing would sell back for more than the ingredients.
Still there were various exploits after that.

there was one event really early in 99 where they changed the price of an item from copper to plat i believe and put this change on test first well people bought bags full of this stackable item and cleaned up.. they did go and clear alot of that plat out of the system though

When they opened transfers to and from Ragefire/Lockjaw, you were able to transfer yourself back-and-forth multiple times. I don't remember how many times each character could do it, but it was something like 7-10 times before you became locked on that server. Anyway..

Basically it had to do with trading plat between 2 accounts and quickly server transfer the character giving the plat away. The game didn't update fast enough to know that your character just gave all his plat away, so you land on the new server with your plat still. Rinse/Repeat, doubling your plat every time.

I heard a rumor of the dupe working like this:

You put plat/items in a trade window, type /server (or whatever the server xfer command is) and then complete the trade. The character is apparently transferred with all plat/items prior to the trade, while the trade still succeeds for the other party.

The best way to know if there's an active plat/item dupe on regular servers is to look at the bazaar on FV. If you see 0 Krono - there's very likely an active dupe, as you saw in late 2013 / early 2014 with the safe-zone item drop dupe.

I have been duping for months now on live, I go to fearot the dream, almost always a named up so I kill it and take his attunable loot, pop back to pok and send it to my trader and go back to fearot and wow the same mob is up again! So I killz him again and BAM duped! SO I check and my prices are so low the 1st 1 sold so I send him another to sell and go back to "dupe" again

My point is with some smarts and the proper use of MQ2 you can effectively get whatever you need from EQ, Plat should never be an issue when you can get as much as you want! Dupping and risking your account(s) no way for me man! Not when I can find mobs to give me free loot that is tradable and with /barter you know what to go get and sell immediately... play smart folks, dupers almost always get caught and then everyone that got there duped product gets banned too, its just lose lose.... Play Win Win!
