Hello.

I was hoping I could bother someone for some insight on who these two settings interact with each other. I often see this odd problem where a mob pulled in will sit just outside of camp beating on a merc or bard or something and the tank will not engage it. I have a feeling I can resolve it by utilizing these two seetings correctly but I am not sure how they work together.

Code:
CampRadius 30 Any # Determines how far your characters interact based on your initial camp spot. This value should be less than MeleeDistance. See MeleeDistance in the Melee section for more information.
Code:
MeleeDistance 75 Any # Mobs outside this radius will not be engaged. Tank modes will use this distance to decide if mobs should be engaged. This distance applies to casters engaging with spells as well and will be checked even when MeleeOn=0.NOTE: Setting this entry to the same value as CampRadius will keep the Tank from taking that initial Jump at the mob on incoming.

Ensure your melee distance > camp radius as mentioned in the documentation.

Ensure your characters are tightly clustered when you start KissAssist on them and make sure /camphere on and /chase off. Don't start KissAssist on your tank just yet.

Invis your tank and move "behind" the rest of the group a few paces. Then start KissAssist in pullertank mode and wait 30 seconds to let the macro get initialized. Do a /camphere on your tank in his location slightly separate from the rest of the group. Then drop invis on the tank to get started.

The idea is that you pull the mobs through the campsite by a small amount. Then when the tank runs out to meet the mob to engage it the whole group and the mob are in about the same location. This means that when the mob is dead you don't have characters that have drifted away from the campsite. When combat ends, KissAssist goes through its buff routine before it moves the character back to the camp location. While buffing the character may be far enough outside the group to get aggro on nearby wandering mobs.

Another trick is to have a slightly larger melee distance and camp radius on your healer so when a mob beats on the bard the healer will eventually get aggro and the mob will path in closer to the group and then the tank will jump on it.

Finally, the LOSBeforeCombat setting can cause your characters to run out around an obstruction to meet the mob and now they're too far from the camp location for the tank to help them. I usually keep it disabled unless fighting in a city environment with walls and rooms.
