Hey guys, I've been playing EQ off and on since Kunark came out. And thru all of this time, I have yet to figure out how to make tons of plat. I used to think that people who had 2 or 300k were rich. Now I'm seeing people talking about having millions. I need some tips or something. A how to or what not. Some characters I have at my disposal are: 85 Ranger 1200aa, 84 Shaman 700aa, 80 mage 300aa. All are silver accounts which means the mercs are useless. Keep in mind that as a silver account, setting up a trader in the baz is out of the question. I will give 100 Red Cents to the individual who posts a guide that helps me make 100k in a reasonably quick amount of time. Thanks guys!

Level to 90, get caster merc, and 2 cleric mercs, and use your ranger as a tank (you might be able to do it at 85, be harder though). Go to Pellucid Grotto and do this shared task: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=4908. When you're at your final hail, join your server general chat channel, auction taskadds (they sell for 5k a seat on Maelin/Drinal). Task does not lock, so you can add people at the final hail, and they don't need to be in zone for the reward. If you drop all but one of your bots from the task, you can sell 5 seats for 25k. With three bots, that's 75k, and with a 6 hour lockout you can do it a couple times a day on the weekend easy. As a bonus, you'll get 25-30 aa's per run at the aa level you're at, or a decent chunk of regular XP.

At that level, probably all youre going to get is vendor trash...not really a science to it, just find a zone and kill. You have such extreme limitations that you will have problems with afk killing. At that level, with such low aa count, i'd go to sod zones and see how well you survive. People who have millions of pp are typically all 100, all gold, thousands of aas, with j5 mercs, and can sell in bazaar, all of which you cant do, so keep your expectations low.

Without a full group or some j5 mercs at that lvl it's gonna be a little harder to make some decent $$

I have 2 groups setup that I just farm trash drops for. I set my loot threshold for advloot to 10pp. I've made like 2 million just farming trash.

Silver accounts are able to make nice gold even with a crappy merc, I box 4 free accounts with level 95 chars in EB and I can kill very efficient and make easy cash.

For your current box team it will be hard to make quick cash though, cause of the low level.

I would find a zone where your ranger can HS, cause that's the fastest way for your team to kill mobs.

Your mage earth pet should be the tank (apprentice tank mercs are no option), so I suggest you put all your AA in pet defense before investing in something else.

Shaman is obviously your healer, but if your mage pet has some decent defense AA, you can turn him into DPS as well, cause a simple T5 apprentice merc will be able to heal your pet tank with good defensive AA and your ranger HSing (mobs die quick = less dmg = less healing needed).

Trash farming is not the quickest way, but certainly the most easy way. Just loot and vendor while you are exping efficiently with a HSing ranger =)

Personally I would level to level 95 asap and then massacre in HoT zones.

Team make up has changed a bit since I posted this. Currently working on leveling a cleric. Goal for me to hit is 92. She's currently level 81 with around 700ish aa. Won't be using the mage anymore as I've got him listed in the marketplace. So I'll be down to a 2 box.

@dulak: Ranger and Cleric then, but who is gonna tank then? Since you can't let an apprentice merc tank afaik :S

@lostangelintx: Any zone where mobs drop plat + gems and are lightblue so you can kill quick. On the other hand I heard stories about SK's who get around 60k loot per swarm, but that's server depended I guess.

and now and then i run around all T1 HOt. VOA. ROF zones and kill any named that are up and sell in the baz.
it works for me i run 5 accounts on krono. and atm i have 10 krono saved and about 4 million plat.

I'm gonna use the cleric to swarm. Figure once I've found a few spots where I can work it out pretty well, I'll do PLs with her.

hmm a cleric to swarm with? sounds painful, personally id use the cleric on a sk put shining rampart on sk load him down with damage shields and pull the whole zone keep two mercs in group for heals use sk aoes agro spells cast a aoe from plee on mobs once you got em grouped up and win .

your group is severly lacking dps I would say take them where ever you can overpower like light blues and outheal the incoming dps personally id drop warrior from afk crew brings nothing

Between the Shining line and the Vow line, a cleric is damn near close to immortal.

SK's are great tanks. With swarming they proc mortal coil and they are all set.

Yeah, drop the warrior for your necro dps and let your bard pull.

I'd also drop the cleric or the shaman and add more dps. If you have a PC healing group content, you don't need backup usually. Your current makeup has 2 tanks and 2 healers, which should be great for survivability, but you must kill slowly.

Theres a much easier way to get plat in EQ. Follow the link to the Our Plat forum sponsor, select the amount you want and buy now. For the 15min-2hr it takes you of work at your job to buy the pp you want. Is Far far less then the time you would spend in eq to make it !

If you aren't looking to get XP, I recommend C2 in PoF. I used to headshot there, clearing the entire thing is around 20k because the diamond drop is insane. You can also earn pp by selling a spot in your group for PLing. If I remember correctly, greys to you still earn them regular XP just not AA.

Best cash I've found is the badgers in the underquarry... They drop 30-50 plat per plus gems. I can make 100k there in an 8 hour AFK session pretty easy. Hope this helps!
