I have a small team of two a beastlord and mage. All I want for now is for the mage pet to assist the beastlord while the mage follows. I've tried editing the ini but I can't seem to figure it out. Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

* scratch head *

I'm re-reading your message more closely... The mage is just following, and by inference...not attacking at all? Interesting.

May I ask why you don't want the mage to attack, just its pet?

Pets require their master to command them to attack, so they must be able to engage.

Try this. It should allow you to send your pet into combat without casting.
DPS=1
DPSSize=0

Below are the critical settings. I always use my pet to tank. Pet tanks > PC's :P

PetCombatOn=1
PetAssistAt=100
PetAttackDistance=150

and the mage must have these set so the pet will function.

AssistAt=100
MeleeDistance=150

I will try adjusting parts of what you mentioned here. For right now the mage is lower level, just easier for him to follow the main damage, with perfected invis. I was just trying to figure out how to get him to send the pet in without attacking. Just so invis wouldn't break. I was curious if the mage could target off the MA and just send pet commands. You're right and I believe he does have to assist that will likely break invis. Correct me if I'm wrong? I guess if that is the case the mage might as well DPS.

Wasnt there something blocking Kiss from taking action if you where invis? or was that removed?

Check invis is inconsistent across classes.

In the version of KA I'm working on, check invis is enforced, but also configurable. Chars detect whether the MA is invis and can behave. MA can engage a target and the rest of the group can drop invis, which is *very* helpful to position before an attack.

This issue with dpson=1 and no dps entries I'll address.

I'm testing across a variety of classes and situations at present.

I don't remember to have anything done to achieve the following behavior.
With my standard KA. Ini my mages won't break invis (so no casts) but send the pet to assist.
So if I invis my mages, they won't do anything but send in the pet to assist, what seems to be the behavior you are looking for.

Sorry im new to this. Im having the same problem as sk pullertank pet will not attack and also box mages will not. i did download others ini files and then did as you all stated to do to fix it but still nothing.

@skykidd Make sure you have these settings set properly.
INI:
[Pet]
PetOn=1
PetCombatOn=1
PetAssistAt=95
PetAttackDistance=115

I think the problem is also related to the Beastlord not doing enough damage at start of fight, Plus the other notes above.

Try something out of curiosity : Have beastlord beat down mob a bit and then bring him to the group , see if the mage pet assists.

If so , then that is part of the problem , If not - then revert to what SIC says above
