IRL - how are you handling 30+ aoe PL pulls? (any lua/mac that helps?)

So i have recently gotten back into the game, and i'm now trying to level some different combos.

My biggest issue is the new(ish) 30 mob limit on aoe aggro spells on my SHD...

if i pull under 30, it goes well, but it's so slow compared to larger pulls.

If i pull more, even if i spend 1 minute, and spam like 8-12 aoe aggro spells or more, it's still not enough to get all of them to aggro on me and not kill the lowbie.

So how are you all getting around it, or is there no getting around it?

and are there any mods out there that allow me to see the actual number of mobs i have aggro from? (ie more than 20 on extended target)

This is why I made aggrowatch. But, honestly no way around it, if you’re mass pulling. Note that aggrowatch doesn’t tell you who is aggressed. Only proximity to help limit your pulls to under 30.

You can speed up some parts of it, if you grab a 50-60 pull - and you’re running a healer with your SK for some reason, you can sit a few times to get some damage in, then toss in a heal and split the mobs that way, the remainder over 30 that aren’t hit by your AE will go after the cleric who can tank them until you’ve killed down the 30 aggro’d.

Or you can be careful pulling. Pull and stop every 10-15, and hit your PBAE on the new mobs. This works if they’re spread out and you’ve got decent run speed, essentially you’re spacing them out. But it’s also obnoxious and difficult to know if you’ve actually managed it, until your little guys hitall leaves you with a pile of PLee corpses.

positive tagging on each with a terror (it isn't really much slower once i get practiced at it, it can actually be faster)
Using PBAE spells occasionally
Moving the pile and moving round the pile to hopefully get a different 30 tagged.

I haven't power leveled in a couple expansions, but I was using the SKs Disruption spell last time I did. I'd run around getting ~200 mobs, run back to where I had the plvlee and a cleric, Id stand ducked in a corner holding wurmslayer hitting AE Agros as they come into camp, once they were all there I would hit my disruption spell, and then cast a few large direct heals on SK from the Cleric.

the damage must not count toward the SK, or there wasn't damage on the lower versions, because after that I could run out with the plvlee and AE or use hitonce and then start sitting so the mobs take DS damage.

ohhh this could be the key... it seems like it's fully aoe.. not limited...

Last time I did this I would use promised heals too because their aggro is given to the healed not the healer. You could also sacrifice one of the mobs for tap aggro

I've tried many times to do the SK PL thing.... honestly... I fail more than I succeed and have found that I simply level by playing faster than trying to PL

That’s what I do. 4 terrors on bar while pulling for no cd (3 gives you like a 1s window of cd)
