Wow, finding the uptick in dmg from mobs in the HoT to be a bit much. Starting this spot at lvl 84 on my toons. I've had to do a complete re-gear on all toons to just keep my tank somewhat alive. Even so, its a bit much to kill in the courtyard of HoT. I'm coming from the looping planes and might just go back for a few more levels if I can't find a rhythm. Any suggestions on a better place at 84 then HoT or LP? I think HoT will be sweet, just need to be a few levels higher I think. i'm using Mq2Cleric solely and while it is aggressive in heals, the dmg just overpowers him at this level even after the mobs being slowed. So hoping there might be a better spot suggested that I can get some quick levels in at.

What hip said. But definitely make sure all your toons are within a level or so because the zones are generated based off of your highest level toon.

You can go all the way to 100+ with gribbles dead hills tasks and HAs in general. You can pick up daily quests that give boost to exp and curreny in HAs also, from teek in pok. He’ll offer you 2 tasks per day, most of which are very much worth doing. Though some tasks are an absolute pita, and best avoided. The dead hills tasks are all relatively simple though, and should be your staple. They give currency which can be spent in tainted west katana that gives you gear upgrades every 5 levels.

It’s also important to note that you get your exp at the hand in, of these tasks and that use of lesson effects the hand in. Once you have the tasks down, you can do two, or even 3 tasks in the space of that half hour, and that’s a considerable chunk of exp per day.

There were 2 expansions between loping plains and HoT, you should try one or both of them in between or in lieu of Gribble's, though Gribble's are definitely a good thing to run. SoD is accessed through the void, you get there through potime..but not the old potime. Go hail the headless dude in PoK by the doorway to the Eastside, and say "time" to him. Walk around the pillar you zone in at and click the glowing spot. SoD has content from 75-85, and it may be an easier route at this point for you to get your J5 mercs if HoT is giving you trouble.

After SoD was underfoot, which has really well done zones but it was a little tough when new for groupers. If you can get your hands on gear in the 7-900hme range, you should be fine for HoT. Also, try Feerott before HoT itself. Feerott has the alternate j5 Merc quest in it, and drops tradeable gear randomly in the range I just mentioned. Working your way through either SoD and or UF progression should help prepare you for HoT if you can't find the gear. There are several routes for gear at your level but I can't remember the names offhand, the easiest route is just to go heroic but at your level you miss out on half the benefits of it(you'd still get gear, all spells and discs to 85, the 2 big bags, and something else, but you've already done 84 levels. If you do want to go heroic, now is the time with the 20% extra discount.
