hi again all im at a loss ive spent the whole day trying to get this to work my first setup is 3 casters 92 mage who has pet tank 85 mage nuker and 89 enchanter. Ive triedd everything they all target the tanks mob but do nothing ive tried using kissassist even tried to break stuff to get it to work. may main mage attacks like normally with my using it but the other 2 toons just sit there. I even tried the mimic me button and still they wont cast or send pet or even use same numbered spells i used but they follow me nicely.

I was actually about to ask the same question. Without the fancy TV video link in my answer of course.

When I first started I forgot to do this. If you don’t use it then the you cannot command the other toons in your group without manually switching to them. I would also highly recommend you start some new characters, skip the tutorial, and head to Crescent Reach. Play with the program for a while on toons you dont care about. Starting this program with level 85 characters would have been tough for me. Actually it would have been hell. its much easier to tweak the file, rerun KA, and see if your tweak had the desired affect with a level 10 in CR than an 85 in who knows what zone. It’s a much shorter run back out to the hunting areas in CR at level 10 when you die than wherever you are hunting. Plus, the loss of exp isn’t a big deal.
 
hi and yes i do use eqbc i can make my toons all wave dance cheer but if i target mob with main puller other 2 dont and if i cast with puller the other 2 do nothing even after default damage ddone

dpson=2 is the recommended dps setting for most things these days

If using DPSOn=1, Kissassist will cast each spell starting when the Mob Health is less than the Spell/AA's MobHealth% and pausing for the DPSInterval timer that starts when the fist spell starts to cast and will pause casting until the timer ends.

If using DPSOn=2, Kissassist will cast in a sequential order, a chain of Spell/AAs starting with the highest MobHealth% to the lowest, with no casting delay/pause


but to address specifically you are missing health values on your dps items

you can find the kiss info guild > HERE < and if you click that and then control-F to search and type "dpson=" you can see some examples

This sounds like you are having issues with melee toons stuck on follow.

You do not want toons to be following you when u are in combat. They try to move..and then they say..nope..Im on follow.

Make sure you drive toon doesnt have the Follow Me button pressed.

If you want the melee to follow you about while you kill stuff then use /chase on or /chase off

If they are chasing you...then they are following..but also still free to engage mobs

Stay with the battle, you will get there - and have a feeling of satisfaction.


Good to see you took some advice, to start learning the tools with low level characters. All about the walking before trying to run.

i am just going over what you have said, and not sure if we are talking about 3 or 4+ characters?

Therefore, will make an assumption it is 4.
  • Casters: Mage and Wizard
  • Hybrid: Beastlord
  • Tank: that be you manually playing?

Step1 - in game, make your group.
Invite all your characters into the group, and assign the group roles. In particular, mark your tank as the MA / MT.

Step 2 - on each of your box characters:

Now, wherever you drive your tank to the gang will follow.
If KissAssist ini are correct, then your friends will assist your MA and do exciting stuff!
You do not require to use the helper buttons, no "come" no "follow" no "mimic". They just confuse and muddy the waters.


If it still isnt quite working, then we can consider the trouble is with your KissAssist configuration.
In your Macros directory ( VeryVanilla\Live\Release\Macros ) you will have ini files. KissAssist_charname.ini .

You have mentioned pain with casters, so I will give some info for this.
In your wizard in game, /end the running of KissAssist, and we can edit the wizard characters ini file.

Feel free to change this to your preference. Keep the ini as is, and in game put those spells in those slots.

Save the ini with the lines above in it.

In game, if you have the minor shielding buff active on the wizard, click it off please. This is first part of the tests.

Now re-start KissAssist on the Wizard.
All being well, after a couple seconds of processing, the Wizard should buff. That is the Wizard should self cast "Minor Shielding".

When your tank fights a mob, the wizard should throw a "Blast of Cold" nuke at it, when the mob hp drop to 90%.

Give this a whirl please, and hopefully you are winning!


You can do the same file for the Mage, just change the spell information. Make these two lines use "Burst of Flame" instead of "Blast of Cold".

That should get your Beastlord active to fight in melee with your tank, and also to throw some baby Salve heals around too!

When you get some buff spells, and some dot / nuke spells, you can add those in as well. Just as you have seen for the wizard earlier.

hi all so far i got wizzie buffing himself doesnt use blast of cold , no spells for the beastlord yet but cant seem to find a magician level 92 ini, magician 86 ini and and enchanter 89 ini , wizzie 86 ini, gotta check my beserker level necro and sk will see shortly i copy and pasted the ini into the game didnt work

@AkronzFurey hello! You are still having some troubles I see.

You have mentioned the wizard is buffing ( 👍 ) and having trouble with other characters ( 👎 )
Also noted, @Redbot thinks perhaps you are in the wrong directory. Perhaps you've done some right and wandered off somewhere else.

Okay, i have one simple ask.

Please forget your high level characters for a little time. Please let us work on your baby team, ( wizard, mage and beastlord ) to get them working.

When using the RG Launcher, it has clickies in it, to update the software and also take you to the home directory of the install.
Follow these steps below, and it will take you to your files.




1. Run the Launcher and you will see this menu to the left side:​

2. Click "Very Vanilla". The main panel will change, and present new information, as shown below.​

3. Click "Open MQ2 Folder". This should pop open an instance of the Windows File Explorer, and be at the directory of the VV software install.​

That "VeryVanilla \ Live \ Release" is the top directory of the MQ2 - Very Vanilla software install.
To work with KissAssist macro, and look at the various ini files go into the "Macros" directory.​
4. Click into "Macros" directory.
In here you will find the files named " KissAssist_yourcharactername.ini "​
e.g. If your mage is called, Marvin. Then you should have a file called KissAssist_Marvin.ini

Okay, I have made 3 characters.

Level 1, wizard, magician and beastlord.
They were selected, given random names, and i clicked "off" the tutorial, they spawned in crescent reach.

A quick look at their spell books:

Dont you just love consistency, something working to a standard! :D
  • Wizard has shield and the cold spell loaded to gems 1 and 2.
  • Magician has flame and shield spell loaded to gems 1 and 2. (yes, reverse order!)
  • Beastlord has none!

In the Macros directory ( as shown in my previous post ), i need to put in the KissAssist_char.ini files.
Lazy mode of doing this!

In game, on both the wizard and magician I run:
/mac kissassist

It takes a few seconds, and the macro finishes. (ignore the error message, it is intentional!)

Now when you look in the Macros directory, the character ini files have been created (KissAssist_yourmage.ini KissAssist_yourwizard.ini) .
Open them in notepad, and delete everything thats in them!

I then paste in the details I gave yesterday (with one correction for spell gem order as seen today).

Save those.

Back in game, i create a group with the beastlord leading, and assign MT / MA roles.
As described yesterday start the KissAssist macro on both the wizard and magician.

For me, both characters thew up their "Minor Shielding" buffs.

I moved the beastlord, and both casters followed.

Next, with the beastlord I manually closed to melee range, target and started attack on the level 1 mobs, "a grove snake" "a grove hare".
They died very quickly, but did get this screen grab:

Working perfectly.

The casters follow, the casters try and throw spells at the mobs.
 
After a bit of killing some of these mobs, the trash loot was there to sell!
A few silver pieces and bought "Salve" for the beastlord.

As described above, i created the initial KissAssist ini file for the beastlord and replaced the content with the settings given yesterday.

With himself target, I start the KissAssist macro as tank!
/mac kissassist tank

Having moved to the eastern side of the zone, with a few spiders, snakes and drakes etc.
Manually, run around and start to hit some mobs.

As before, when the mob hp go under 90%, the casters start to nuke.
But this time, when the beastlord hp go under 60%, he has the Salve spell and uses it!

OMG thats actually the best new user guide ive ever used and i will tell you following this over the video was much much easier.
my 3 boxes are now all acting casting and fighting correctly think it was because the video didnt say to delete initial ini file and replace with a ini from resources. If i figure it out correct using a level 95 magician ini and level it down to 92 should work correctly as well? im still keeping the babies tho

The video tells you to copy the file to Your clipboard, then inside the .ini file use Ctrl+A to highlight everything and then Ctrl+V to paste it. Then rerun KA in game to add in the rest of the file. It confused me as well for a bit but I banged my head into the monitor enough for it to eventually sink in.

I think I would use a lvl 90 magician file and then just change the spell names in it if you acquire upgrades. That’s kind of how I’m working it between levels. Use the lower level and adjust until you get to the next level.

I hope this sounds as sincere as it is intended to be - I can't tell you how grateful we are to hear that not only are you back in action BUT also *WHERE* the disconnect was, so we can take this as a lesson to help future folks. Sometimes folkswill get an issue sorted out and then we never hear what actually was the issue lol or where the disconnect was in our communication. so A+ to you, and @BigDorf, nicely done
 
Hey Guys thankx, i tried loading a level 85 ini for mage an adding in the correct spells in place of level 85 by copying the ini you posted for me for level 1 and changing the spells and buffs the only thing i cant figure out now is for pet classes to send pets in asap and to cast faster

The assist, is the mob hp %. Please do not use 100%, as it can lead to random things if your MA targets an npc.
buffs, specific things like the mage burnouts.
put another line in, "petBuffs2=" if you want to add a cast of mage damage shield to it?

Also remember, pet like to get heal.
Put in the name of the healing spell, and the hp % you want your mage to commence healing from.
The "heals" section is for healers primarily, but also pet owners. listed the 88 spell, Renewal of Volark.


Other bits to mention.
It is best to keep the heal spell loaded in a core gem.
the default, is gem8 is used as a hotswap gem. Change it to another by amend "miscgem".
KissAssist will use that hotswap gem, to unmem and load other spells, cast etc. Especially for buffs if they arent in your core gems.
I define core gems, as those you leave loaded most of the time.

ok got the pet going in nicely now casting interval is set at 2 but yet seems to take 30 secs between each casts. I also copied an 90 enchanter an downgraded it to 89 using same format as mage and doesnt work at all

are you using dpson=1 or dpson=2?

i would suggest changing to dpson=2
 
did no one catch he didnt have the spell health percentage?

now trying my enchanter an beserker. out of curiosity if you have a cleric is there only 1 line or more than 1 to make him heal whoever is hurt starting at 70%

[DPS] Settings in Kissassist_ToonName.ini
  • In the DPS section, you'll want to align your spells in order in which they cast. They don't need to be in order, but it helps to visually see which spells are going to be cast first and which spells will follow.

  • If using DPSOn=1, Kissassist will cast each spell starting when the Mob Health is less than the Spell/AA's MobHealth% and pausing for the DPSInterval timer that starts when the fist spell starts to cast and will pause casting until the timer ends. Once the Mob's Health gets below the next Spell/AA's MobHealth% number that Spell/AA is added to the rotation making a snowball of damage that gets bigger and bigger as more Spell/AA's are added to the rotation. Dot's will be reapplied when they drop off the target. If you have an order that you want the Spell/AA's to cast in, you must use a different MobHealth% for each. An example would be first spell at 99 next at 98 then later in the rotation you might have a 76, 75, 74. once the target gets below 74 all the spells will cast in order from highest MobHealth% to the lowest tying to recast a spell if it gets resisted or interrupted as to not break the sequence. --good for debuff stacking using the |Once tag. If you use spells with the %health 98,98,98 70,70 and 30,30 you will not know what order it will pick, the 2nd or 3rd spell with the same %health may cast first. (Further testing needs to be done on how many times a spell gets resisted/interrupted before it moves on to the next.)

  • If using DPSOn=2, Kissassist will cast in a sequential order, a chain of Spell/AAs starting with the highest MobHealth% to the lowest, with no casting delay/pause. As soon as the chain of casting starts, the DPSInterval timer starts. If it takes 12 seconds to cast all the spells in the chain and the DPSInterval is set to 10 you will see no delay in recasting the chain. If DPSInterval is set to 20, there will be an 8 second delay/pause before the chain will recast. If the Mob dies in the middle of a chain, the chain starts over for the new target. If the |Once tag is used with a Spell/AA, it will no longer be cast and will be skipped if the chain is cast a second or third time on the same target. If the target is new, the Spell/AA will cast again, but only once for the new target. If Dot's are used in the chain and they are still ticking on the target there will be a delay in the chain as Kiss checks target for the Dot's and if present will skip it, before moving to the next Spell/AA, but if the Dot ends it will be recast as soon as the current Spell/AA finishes casting, causing the order to be out of place when the chain is cast 2 or more times.

0/1/2- =0 is Off, =1 is On and cast normally by mob % health, =2 is absolute descending order using mob health % tag as order control. This will cast every spell with a health tag. This Prevents skipping spells that may occur when mobs die too fast. When set to 2, Mob HP % is only used to prioritize cast spell order

Ok, @AkronzFurey you have started to look at enchanters.


Here is the short piece of kissassist configuration for crowd control, i.e. Mez. (this is the same for bards as well, but detail their level appropriate songs etc)

Your earlier post mentioned a level 89 enchanter. I have assumed that is who you look to configure, instead of playing with a baby character. I dont know that level range, so have had to rely on Allakhazam for spell information.
  • Chaotic Baffling says it is a single target spell, scribe at 88, and mez up to level 93. Allak spell info
  • Serene Wave say it is a targeted AE spell, scribe at 89 and mez up to level 93. Allak spell info
  • Clamor of Tashan says its the single target spell for debuff magic resists, scribe at 87. Allak spell info

In time, reading the settings will get an obvious feel about it, and become second nature.
  • First up there is the "On" switch, to mez or not to mez. (Same basic similar as dps, as heal, as melee etc. 0=no, 1= yes.)
  • The radius, is the distance from where your character stands, to possible mobs to consider as targets for mez.
  • The levels apply to the mob. This helps filter mobs within "radius" range. Too low who care? Too high waste of mana!
  • The Stop HPs is a tricky one. The mob HP % when to stop trying to mez it. Under 100, but how far? few hits on a DS before CC?
  • The single target, AE target and debuff spells are listed as is.
  • The debuff, if turned "On", will look to be used if there is a spell resist after trying to mez.
  • Lastly, note the ae spell has the "|3" on it. That is the decider to switch from single target to ae, if there are 3 or more to control in range. Change the number up if prefer. Mez up to 4 single, but go ae on 5? Then make it "|5".


Two notes to keep in mind.

1 - As you have already started to use the enchanter, you have a working kissassist ini profile for it. Edit the file, and replace the mez section in the file, with what I have given above.

2 - For the mezzing and debuffs to really be effective, you need to have the 3 spells loaded in your core gem set. i.e. try not to depend on it mem and unmem spell in the hot swap gem. If gems are tight, then you have the options via the AA, "Mnemonic Retention" to add extra gems. When you have your gem layout decided in game, revisit the ini file, and bring the [Spells] section inline with it.

I missed the cleric question!
(Accepting my experience with a KissAssist cleric is limited, as previously it was driven by the CWTN plugin, mq2cleric.)

Can you say which spells and things you are looking to use please?


The KissAssist profile can have many lines in the [Heals] section, more lines than you have spell gems to load into!
The casting of spells, can be conditional, as you noted on a characters hp %.

You could define the level 82 single target heal over time; Devout Elixir|95
Then there is the level 85 one shot heal; Frenetic Renewal|85
Another level 85 spell, the group heal; Word of Recovery|90

The notes mention about group heals, use the average hp% of the group, as opposed any one specific character hp%.


Yan also consdier bringing back the dead with the resurrection spell; Reviviscence|0|rez

Detailing that, reminds me of the overload options at the end ( e.g. |rez ).
After the hp% number, you can overload with extra definitions to help say "who" gets it.
e.g. the tank with "|MA", the healer themself "|Me", or perhaps a selection of classes, "|class|clr,dru,shm".

You can specify the same spell, multiple times if you wish. Giving different hp%, and / or different overload options.



Healing is a bit more complicated than DPS, in as much there are decisions around priority to make.
Not just over the what to cast, but the who to cast on.
Getting something in, is better than nothing; but getting it near perfect for most scenarios to encounter in game will be tricky.
 
ok been doing good so far with setting up my toons and its been good until i got to my Shadowknight and Bezerker, my shadowknight is on his horse and keeps running around the pulled rooted mob to fight him and is aggroing other monsters nearby.

secondly my bezerker rushes into meet the mob as my mage pulls him which means i have to move whole group in the middle of 4 mobs to kill the one im fighting...

my shaman is on strike an wont heal or rez

my enchanter wont mez if theres more than 1 mob

the whole group moves in with me when i goto pull.

ive looked at sic's camp commands and they can be in greek for all i know

Step1 - in game, make your group.
Invite all your characters into the group, and assign the group roles. In particular, mark your tank as the MA / MT.

Step 2 - on each of your box characters:

Now, wherever you drive your tank to the gang will follow.
If KissAssist ini are correct, then your friends will assist your MA and do exciting stuff!
You do not require to use the helper buttons, no "come" no "follow" no "mimic". They just confuse and muddy the waters.

is it possible to make a chase on button like the follow and come to me buttons?

Woooah easy cowboy, lots and lots of things.

A problem can come from a misconfiguration in the kissassist character file, or it could also be situational.
e.g.
kissassist ini, the On:
[Heals]
HealsOn=1
[Buffs]
BuffsOn=1
[DPS]
DPSOn=1

It not healing? it not buffing? it not DPSing?
Are the "on" switches set to 1, and not to 0 ( which is off! )

situational, mana? characters low mana and in "med" mode, waiting either themself or another in group to finish med and then resume perhaps?


When asking for help with characters not doing something, you will often get asked to detail the setup. i.e. give details of the character ini file.

to help with your shaman and enchanter problems, we will require two things from you please for each character:
  1. kissassist character ini file info
  2. spell gem list in game

Ok, thats operational issue.
Are you camp pulling, as opposed to hunting?

if you are camp pulling, you require to set the camp and turn chase off.
if you are hunting, then you require to not have a camp and turn chase on.

camp pulling, the characters stay around an initial area whilst the puller goes for a wander and come back with some food, erm, some mobs.
hunting, where the characters follow around and assist the hunter as move from location to location.

From the point you login your characters and have invited to the group, you are stood in the zone you wish to do things in.
Please detail what you are doing, in terms of commands etc and we can look at that and give some guidance.

I am going to assume, you have your characters in game. They are in a group. You have your MA/MT role assigned. EQBCS is running, along with MQ2. i.e. the basic starting position of any VV group of characters session.

These commands can be ran by copy/paste into the "chat" window, or can be applied to a social macro hotbutton.

( execute from your Tank EQ instance )

To have your characters target your tank
/bcg //target ${Me.Name}

to have your characters start up the kissassist macro, in assist mode

Remembering that, /chase on & /chase off, is kissassist stuff, hence requirement it must be running.
On:

These two can be reduced to one line.
/bcg //target ${Me.Name}
as:
/bcg //docommand /mac kissassist assist ${Me.Name}


This is because the KissAssist macro has options in how it can be started.
The first format, is default; in which it will assume the target is the MA/MT, and you just specify to assist.
The second format, you are dictating who the MA/MT is. Running the command on the Tank instance of EQ, it parses the value ${Me.Name} into the characters name for command to issue.


If you are going to macro up the chase on, chase off, then i would also consider including the CWTN plugin elements as well.
On the chance that some characters are managed by KissAssist, some are by CWTN plugins, so have a key that does both.

On:
/noparse /bcg //docommand /${Me.Class.Shortname} mode 2

Off:
/noparse /bcg //docommand /${Me.Class.Shortname} mode 1


the "/noparse" is used, as dont want it to send your (tank) character class details, it wants to be figured out on the other instance of EQ that is going to carry out the instruction.

super cool info Dorf. Most of that I was solid on but the chase was new for me. Is there a way to combine on and off into 1 macro button to where it jut toggles it similar to what the come to me, follow, and mimic me buttons do? I don’t mind making it and putting it on my hotbar.

Seriously.

/chase

by default is toggle command. Overloaded with "on" to force on, and "off" to force off, regardless what its state was before.
Without the parameters to overload it, it will flip state.

/bcg //docommand /chase

will flip the state of all in party, if they were chasing they arent now. If they werent, they are now.
Personally, I prefer to force it and dictate what I want. But you want to flip, so flip you can.
