Someone tryed to get into my redguide account and failed thank god. showed me the ip of 12.210.32.100 thats not on my network or even in mytown. Can I do anything to prevent this in the futre or should I rotate my PW frequently?

Well depents.. If your PC was hacked changing the PW dont really help they would have planted a keylogger or something like that on your PC.

So uhm...curious mod's want to know, how do you know someone tried to login to your account but failed?

Someone trying to log in to his account from another location but fails.

Not his PC.

And I don't know of any login logs that members have access too or even Mods.

So I'm still stuck scratching my head.

Well if someone used his PC to connect to RG and using his username then it would show in a log but yes i understand what you mean

It sent me an email saying 5 failed attempts and sent me the IP. said was on the 12th

I recieved an e-mail from RedGuides.com Forums stating that my acct had been locked out for 15 minutes because someone tried to log into the acct with the wrong password more than 5 times.
Guess what IP they said it came from??

12.210.32.100


Coincidence?? I don't think so!
was on the 12th also.
