Two users were banned this week, both after being specifically called out on the official EQ forums.

My advice is this: be kind to your fellow EQ addicts. Be responsible, give up camps when asked, and if you must run a large army (I don't recommend it), keep an eye out for complaints on the forums.

Any other ideas to avoid player reports?

Phinigel is the one server they really don't want anyone using on. If you're gonna use, don't bring melee in to the mix and set up a different auto follow distance instead of everyone following at the same distance. The dude I watched boxed 19 guys last week in unrest and circled the entrance outside in dagnors intentionally showing off for several minutes. Don't be like that dumbass. Also keepING it to 3 would be much safer it won't draw attention if you choose you want boxes.

Stick to less popular zones - you have a group that can sustain itself anywhere in the level range, so you don't NEED to be in the popular grouping zones.

Keep it to 1 key press = 1 "action" or macro button, per character. No broadcasting sit/stand to all chars or /cast to all chars. I setup keybinds to send individual commands to individual characters to cast spells, buffs, etc.

Be nice to other players... consider inviting them to your group for extra bonus XP.

Don't discuss it in any chat channel or brag to people. Don't be OBVIOUS that you're able to see spawns on your map.

Personally I have avoided using /stick at all on my boxed melee characters. I'm running Monk/Ranger/Shaman (I know, silly combo) and I use the monk to position mobs on top of the ranger, assist with the ranger, and snare them so they can't run. I actively play the monk and just use mq2melee to keep the kick type stuff on cooldown. People spot the /stick stuff really easily.

Frankly, it was only a matter of time until we saw what they'd do. I know this isn't wow but when I botted on wow, they would always gather information on players then hit them all at once, and this compile hasn't been out long so perhaps they're starting the bans now.

Honestly best advice anyone can give you is fly under the radar and if someone is getting nosey.... just stop. The forum community of Everquest is close to that of the midevil ages and Macroquest users are Witches. The second they deem us a witch they're going to post names on the forums, videos, screenshots and cause massive unrest just like they do when they want a change made to get us burned at the stake aka banned.

Avoid the terrible community that is on phinigel and you avoid getting banned pretty much

This doesn't seem to be a "we detected MQ2 use" ban wave. They're reacting to people who stick out like a sore thumb and get themselves reported by a bunch of people. One of the guys banned (who got 20 other accounts banned with him) was running multiple groups of chars, broadcasting to all chars, disrupting popular zones, and bragging in zone chat. Basically EVERYTHING you shouldn't be doing.

If you're going to EQBC basic commands to large groups of people, actually make a EQ Macro key for the actions in the game on each toon. For example, to stand/sit you make the 9 key. You EQBC the command to press the 9 key instead of /stand. The 9 key in the game for that toon is macro'd as example:

Game Macro
Toon 1:
/pause 10
/stand

Toon 2:
/pause 20
/stand

You can do the same with all your common actions and build in a pause and make the pause different between toons. You still broadcast a single command but the toons all respond slightly differently. Just a suggestion.

If you tell two characters to /BCT keypress at the same time, is that triggering truebox code? Seems like it would, people should just use the /pause ingame between each bct command.

Thats a bold statement cotton.

Never would I have Isboxer passing my mq2commands from toon to toon. Thanks but no thanks.

eqmule says so, but that doesn't mean there aren't others compiling for it would be my guess. I wasn't even considering the server against the statement, was strictly addressing EQBC against IsBoxer /shrug. Didn't think Isboxer was supposed to work cross computer commands either, its against the phinny terms anyway.

not sure on ISBoxer sending MQ code back and forth between PC's either... just saying there is no competition for it on the server this thread is about (at least from this site and the source site) since with out MQ2 in some form, there would be no EQBC.

I recall seeing ISEX posts now and again on the source boards and assume that is a form of interaction between IS and MQ though. But unless there is a lot of very quiet folks.. only see like the 1-2 dudes posting about it. It is beyond my meager skills though
