I watched a GM camp out by the DL Task Giver with 3 guys just sitting there asking for task after task after tasked I feel we may see a few bannings

Be aware! I was luck to be sitting at computer when he popped in!

Out!

Yes Dreadlands

There has been 4 toons running AdvTaskWarp I am assumming because they show up on my map but in the wall or on top cant tell cause I could never find them but they have been there for 4 days straight now the GM's are showing up :(

I have been running the advtaskrunner2 Reformed version and my toon sits right next to task giver when running so there isnt a ghost task message with no one around LOL

GMs know all about the tasks, and the macros for it...don't kid yourself.

They just don't really care about them.

AdvTask has been around since Jul/Aug of last year, they watch it off and on and like The0Eldest said they only show up these days if its reported.

anyone know if Centiny is a GM??? I've gotten a message last night from that person =/ <~ I'm kinda worried.

Not on my growing list of GM's but we probally arent on the same server and please dont ask me :)

Omgz the GM's will kno ur servers ~! Who cares. I play on 7th hammer. Big deal.

Telling people your server is not nearly enough info for them to target you. However that is a big piece of the puzzle so if you post other info frequently such as what macs you run or what your farming it would add to the risk. Most servers it would not make a bit of difference but if you happen to be on a server that has a gm here trying to keep up with the current exploits, then it might put a bug up his ass to look for you...

/SOAPBOX ON
Many people here already know I am on Bert and I hope that everyone (GM's included) that reads my posts realize I play because I love the game. Banning me or not banning me will not affect anyone elses game one bit. I do not afk macro, I do not kill mobs I normally could not kill, I treat everyone in the game with respect (even the ones that do not deserve it). I use macros so that I can play multiple toons at once. If I could find a group everytime I logged on to play with then I would not box. When I have 2-3 hours to play I do not want to spend half of it finding people to group with... I never log on thinking I want to 6-box. I always go to /lfg first see what is available for 70 toons. I do not think I have seen more than 3 groups there at one time in the last year and usually there are none. I would love to join a raiding guild that had people on all the time so I never had to search for a group. I have 9 accounts for me and my sons. If one or two got banned it saves me a little money. If most or all got banned it would save me a lot of money. SOE would lose my money which I know is just a drop in the bucket, but why would they do it?

Have fun, be happy and don't worry...lifes too short!!!

well i lost some accounts running dl tasks in the early part of the year sort of sux i put alot of time into those toons i was banned for running adv task there were many banned on drinal for it. no worries already up and runing again with other toons. have fun and dont sweat it btw losing a 6 year account did suck my fault tho i got careless.

In regards to the soapbox above, it might be a major selling point to SOE if they can claim to have removed most if not all of the "exploiting". The way they see it, if the small MQ community leaves by choice or not, it might encourage a larger community to play the game. I am not saying that opinion is valid or not, just a different perspective.

I have in the past left a couple games over a massive amount of exploiting with nothing being done about it. That may make me a hypocrite at this point but, there are lot of people out there that feel the way I did. It would be a strong selling point to claim a harsh stance on exploiting, or even better an exploit free game.

Ive been on EQ since the beginning, and I dont know about anyone else but am saddened to watch it slowly die.

Let's face it, 24 hours of tasking (if you could get it to actually run that long without some kind of crash, too much zoning going on for stability), is equal to the xp of, what, 60-70 minutes in a good xp group? That's why they don't bother watching this one too closely. They pick their battles, and task macro is small potatoes. Of course, there is always the danger of a GM having a bad day.

On a side note, I have been seeing several new guides all over my server lately, including DL zone. Hardly ever saw a guide/GM on before, and now we get about 10 times the GM events going on. Kinda nice, but much more dangerous. Makes you look over BOTH shoulders before hitting that warp hotkey...

It just might be a coincidence, I've usually noticed a pattern in GM/Guide activies... 2 weeks of pure Nothingness, then 2-3 weeks of events every day, lots of GM's on.. idk this just may be my server and all; of course everyone knows, you should always be careful when AFK macroing.. ALSO, ive noticed GM's sometimes sending ;tell <name> to have it soandso told you, " blah blah "... will Macro's with tell checks activate on these type of tells?

On that note are thier logs client side that relate in anyway to warp that can be cleaned?
