I find that if I'm in a smaller group -- a balanced group of a fighter, caster and healer ( I play a healer), and we are killing blues quickly, it's a lot more efficient and more of a steady stream of EXP than being in a full group killing reds. I have some thoughts as to why this is:

1) There is a lot less downtime because you aren't fighting mobs that are taking a huge chunk of your hit points with each swing, which brings me to number two...

2) Your healer can keep up without having to wait for mana to regen.

3) A steady moderate stream of exp beats out a sporadic, uneven flow.

4) Deaths are less likely to happen!

5) It allows you too use a 2-3 person group, vs. a full group thus, the exp is divided amongst less people.

Try this, pay attention to your exp, and see the difference.
