Ok, so I was crazy and figured I would share this info with all of you. I did not know of this site when I did this so please do not flog me. I paid for the download over at GameGuides.com (do not do this!). I had paid $29.99 for the platinum making guide. Much to my dismay the contents of this guide were almost useless, certainly not worth what I paid anyway.
That in mind, I will fill you in on an area I found on my own that this guide never even touched on.
Dulak Harbor! My main charcter is a mage, she was able to solo there at 50 and up (other classes can start earlier I am sure), I still go there even at 68 because it is easy money for the time. As long as you ignore the (Shiv) most other loot will yeild you 4 plat or more each, plus there are the Gems, Mithiril amulets and Parts. You can resell the Parts/meats in the bazaar for plat as Shaman use them to make potions of particular races. Blue Diamonds are the best dropped gems however as they will get you 200+ each from vendors OR you can easily make over 300 plat each in the bazaar/barter area. The Parts/meats you really want to focus on would be Iksar and Gnome since the human, dark elf, ogre and troll are very common. At Higher levels I can do this area buffless (not even KEI) and still make fast money. There are many camps so the choice is yours, however I like to just park in the Armory, can single pull rather easily. And every few cycles you will get a mini named spawn (an ore refinery overseer) who drops a nice weapon Overseer's Lance or (Soot covered Hand-wraps) for resale. His place holder is a Female Ogre Refinery Drudge.
Well I hope this helps some folks, and saves them the disappointment of trying somewhere other than RedGuides
