News - EverQuest Legends Consolidated Thread

Wow.. some of you folks on here are some legit crybabies and need to touch some grass.

So much speculation and assuming the absolute worse.

Also thinking the world is ending by leveling to 50 to get a "free" class unlock token for your primary? Give me a break. Games are meant to have something to work for (quest for). Your goal is to obtain max level, get level 50. At max level you build upon your character, make it stronger buy gearing, earning some sort of alternative advancement/talent (what have you). Some folks enjoy fashion quest, some enjoy achievement quest, whatever. The unlock achievements aren't that bad when it comes to the races already.

I feel like some folks just want to sit back and find something to whine about. Get over it.

I have played EQ since August of 1999, I have played various EMU servers since around 2013 and still currently do. I have played on the original progressions servers known as the Combine and the Sleeper, I have played on almost all of the TLP's, I played on THJ, I played on P99, even played on a neat new iteration of "multiclassing" in a sense on a server called Perky (great server btw!). Point is, they are all build and designed around EQ, a game we all love. Does corporate DBG/DPG suck ass? Absolutely. Is it shitty that they sued the pants off the THJ crew? Absolutely. Are they making money off of EQL? Duh.. people aren't going to do much for free, especially a business. Remember when we used to complain about Sony ruining EQ after they took Verant's name off of everything around Luclin? We assumed it would be the downfall. PoP would be the last of the last because it was the last expac being worked on by the known "OG" team. EQ is still alive.

Seriously, be opinionated, but relax and quit being so closed minded and negative about every little detail. If you don't want to try it, don't. If you tried it and don't like it, sure speak up, but to sit here and just keep poking on and on about how much you hate the idea whether trying it or now and how much the company sucks, you're just pushing potential folks away at the end of the day. Not just from EQL, but from EQ as a whole.

Back to playing all of those different types since my first time logging into EQ in August of 1999, I personally feel like they have done a good job with EQL. I was personally sour about the THJ issue and decided to cancel my active original account at the time. I refused to play the last couple TLP's, and I didn't. My choice, sure. I was having fun playing on EMU's where I have spent 90ish% of my time playing EQ in the last 3 or 4 years. I decided to give EQL a try, it's something new (yes similar to THJ and some other features other EMU's or even RG has to offer, QoL) and since being in beta, a mere $20 for beta access and a free month of game time, I have enjoyed it. I was glad they didn't offer "game breaking" things in the store. Sure the storage options are annoying, but it is known they always sell bags, folks buy them up on live and TLP one way or another whether through the store or game packs.

I'll agree with one baine, I prefer old models personally, but they should give you the option for "new/luclin" models for those who grew up using them or switched to them at one point. No reason to force folks into the old models.

In ending, I recommend people give it a try. It's not that expensive. I read the dude complaining about spending $20 or $10 with the comparison of buying whatever. $20 isn't shit in 2026 to try out a game. People are spending $20 to see some OF hoe show them her big toe. If you're that broke, then whatever, pay your bills, feed your family with that $20. If you like EQ and you have $20 laying around, give it a try. Don't like it? Quit.
