Still after patch i am not able to play eq, EQ works fine till i try and load RG, then EQ stops responding after loading RG, anyone having these issues also? trying to figure out if this is a problem alot of people are having or just me?

No Windows Defender even? No Firewall?i dont have a AV
I feel like i had something like this happen to me in the past when I had patched MQ, but had not patched EQ, and using autologin to launch my characters...it seemed like instead of getting some game miss match error, it was causing the game to freeze (if I remember correctly) after server select.Still after patch i am not able to play eq, EQ works fine till i try and load RG, then EQ stops responding after loading RG, anyone having these issues also? trying to figure out if this is a problem alot of people are having or just me?
This happens before character select, on the EULA agreement screenI feel like i had something like this happen to me in the past when I had patched MQ, but had not patched EQ, and using autologin to launch my characters...it seemed like instead of getting some game miss match error, it was causing the game to freeze (if I remember correctly) after server select.
This hasn't fixed my issue, still freezing at EULA screenok. I was able to fix mine by uninstalling RG and then reinstalling it. try that
I did provide that info earlier in the thread.if you didn't check some of the other things mentioned in this thread you should.
not sure what that means - are/where you having the same issue?
you didn't provide any information
you didn't provide any steps you're taking
you didn't provide any insight to additional steps
did you check your AV like mentioned in this thread?
are you sure mq is injecting?
is mq2autologin loaded?
I've turned it off to diagnose this issue, yes. Not sure why that is "ludicrous"....You don't have *any* firewall/AV running, so you've disabled windows defender?
Seems ludicrous to me.
I'm not frustrated at all, as a software developer for 20 years I'm accustom to issues. That said, I did answer many of your questions already. If I try to launch eq using MQ, it will freeze on EULA screen while loading up. MQ2Autologin IS loaded and has been for as long as I can remember, including numerous profiles etc. As for injecting? I can get things to work if I launch eq with the eq launcher and MQ open...but thought this was frowned upon.(tested on unimportant acct) So I assume it is injectingcan you show me where you said that mq was or wasn't injecting
or that mq2autologin is loaded?
i assume and get that you're frustrated - but don't be a bad help receiver.
Yeah, somewhat supports what I'm saying above your last post. (Edit: but not necessarily ofc)It seems to be related to something that is already configured in my MQ folder. What I did was renamed my \AppData\Local\VeryVanilla\MacroQuest folder to _old. I then used the RG patcher to install a new MQ, and it created the \MacroQuest folder again without any of my settings etc. - so I configured 1 account in autologin, and tried that and it works.
Something inside my old MQ folder it's not liking and freezes EQgame.exe
you dont have *any* eq files in your mq directory do you?It seems to be related to something that is already configured in my MQ folder. I do not. It's something in my /config folder. I copied the config folder from my _old directory, to my newly empty MacroQuest directory and it freezes eqgame.exe - I'm going to copy other stuff little by little see if I can find the culprit.you dont have *any* eq files in your mq directory do you?
can you maybe truncate it and share (can even PM) something that might indicate what is creating that entryFound the culprit. It's something in MacroQuest_Overlay.ini - it's a long file with a bunch of personal data so not going to post it. But seems it's not liking some value in it. I deleted that file and it's working now.
This fixed my issue as well, thank you.Found the culprit. It's something in MacroQuest_Overlay.ini - it's a long file with a bunch of personal data so not going to post it. But seems it's not liking some value in it. I deleted that file and it's working now.
through Bethania and @brainiacOk it wasn't that much personal data after all, I stripped servers and char names.
