if i were to want to start a server for eq emulation where could i go for info on this? such as builds cheats getting VV to run on it etc?

http://www.eqemulator.org/ has a ton of guides and all the assets needed, no include auto installers for Windows and Linux. Most of the configurations are listed on their wiki and you can make it as MQ2 friendly as you want. VV works fine on the ROF2 client if you turn off the MQ2Melee plugin and run the 4GB patch for the client executable (otherwise you'll have memory limitations boxing).

Would be kinda neat to see a full access titanium version that is red guides friendly. Don't get me wrong, I P99, but it'd be nice to have some of the quality of life improvements of titanium. I don't know of any other servers with the kind of population that P99 has or the fact that everything works on P99.

Very vanilla for the RoF2 client can be found at this link, download as a zip and unpack, has the plugins ready to go that you need such as MQ2EQwire

Never ran into any problems myself with mq2melee causing crashes, didn't know about the 4gb memory patch either, hadn't noticed any problems but maybe the torrent I downloaded for RoF2 already had it applied?

Have to say that I've been having a blast the last couple of months playing on my own on my personal emu server, I can use gm commands to get straight to the action and will admit to using #mana to reduce downtime and liberal use of #kill to recover from dodgy pulls, playing through Kunark TLP style so I'm missing Fade on my bard big time at the minute. Still took 2 hours nearly to clear down to Royals in Chardok the other night and only got as far as the locked doors, the next night I used #goto to get back to those doors and pick up where I left off, took down the Overking for Cleric epic. Had just come from Charasis where I went through one wing each evening, would be way too painful to do on live with NO RENT keys and I hear the key quest itself is perma camped on TLP's. Been chuckling to myself lately reading about server crashes/downtime and people twiddling their thumbs on patch days with nothing to do. Yep its EMU all the way for me, been raiding with server bots so far, heading to VP once I get my 6 box to level 60, still need to visit Old Seb, been running 3 times XP since level 51 as the grind just became too much and didn't feel fun.

If anyone has any questions about getting an EQEmu server up and running or questions about customising it post them up here.

There's a few things I've worked out I'd be happy to share like how to get VP back to the original mob set (the revamp is loaded as default) and I have some SQL queries to help with upgrading gear on the serverside bots instead of having to manually hand them items.

I'd love to see a P99 style Luclin or PoP server. Limited to 2 box only that allowed MQ2.

I've also updated a lot of the Emu tools to work with modern versions of SQL and Web Servers. Like the Diablo 2 style gear dropping script and such. Even have the whole allakhazam type data base site working ( Example: https://nova-eq.com/db/ )
