Question - CWTN Class Plugins?

Hi All,
I am currently running a group of six just with the kissassist command. However, I have seen that there are plugins for sale for each class, for instance the MQ2War, MQ2Cleric etc. What is the benefit of running these plugins over kissassist? Would they replace kissassist or simply make kissassist better?

Cheers,
Frank

Howdy Ciddan,
These plugins not really replace kissassist. It's another way to run your toons like RGMercs, ModBots, Entropy etc.
You should not run plugins with kissassist runnning, that may cause conflicts.
But yeah, those plugins are awesome, unlike kissassist, you don't have to config an ini to make it work. It's more like load and play.
You may adjust some settings in the plugin ui window.

Howdy Ciddan/Frank,
they are just an alternative automation system, there are lots of different systems around, each with things they do well, or better than other systems, and sometimes not better or worse - just differently.

These plugins are independent from kissassist - you would not and do not want to run more than 1 automation system at a time as you would likely have conflicting behavior. (think 2 things saying to memorize something differently at the same time). So it isn't something you would be running on top / in addition to, it would be something you are using instead of. They just exist in the "plugin space" rather than in the "macro space"

they are included in your level 2 Very Vanilla for the Test server if you wanted to try them, and we (cwtn and I) would strongly recommend doing so to become familiar with them. you can /testcopy your toons over to the test server and try them out there before "committing" so you can give them a whirl and decide if that is something for you.

They are not for everyone; They do not meet everyone's needs. :(
They offer less "customization" for specific things. :(
They should mostly work "out of the box". :)
We don't currently have all the classes available. :(
You don't configure them each level, it automatically does that. :)
They use a unified command structure which *should* in theory, make it easy to manage your team. :)

you can absolutely accomplish your goals with many of the other automation suites, and many folks do. The CWTN class plugins are just our (ChatWithThisName and my) take on class automation.

Hope that helps!

with important information like:

The CWTN plugins are intended to be a mostly "out-of-the-box" experience with little to no adjustments to your settings. They don't offer granular specificity for what/when/how/why - we take most of that decision-making out of the equation so you can just focus on the game, and not on trying to become an expert at all of the 16 classes.

Because you don't get granular specificity there are some trade-offs on things you can and can't adjust, or accomplish, but for a good chunk of folks, these will work just fine - and there are plenty of other tools for the jobs that these tools don't meet the needs of.

While I appreciate your objectivity, I think you're selling yourself short and could also add "We do have the majority and most of the most popular ones :)"

Apart from the one that shall not be named! 🤫(But I don’t need that one anyway)

I echo Sic in his explanation of the differences. I switched over to all MQ2 CWTN plugins and I love them hands down over using Kissassist and I can't wait for there to be CWTN plugins for all the classes. But, I know that the work that goes into writing the code for the CWTN Plugins is worth a lot more than $20 a year. Not saying to raise the price :) but I would pay double that ...not questions asked. My hat goes off to these coders that wrote these plugins and I only hope that I can some day offer even half of that expertise in the creation of these great products. Thanks to all of you that contribute to the Creator community and the hard work that you do.

IMO, the main thing to realize is that, CWTN plugins play your class the way CWTN/Sic think the class should be played and their primary focus is on a basic xp group grinding mobs. Someone's random edge case play style is likely beyond the scope of the plugins. For the sake of a hands-off, automated experience, you should forget about trying to make the plugins conform to your person style and instead just let the plugin do it's thing and adjust to it.

CTWN is light years better than Kissassist. I own all the plugins because I have an alt problem. They're all worth it. They just need to do MQ2Necro and also "He that shall not be named" one! Give them a try. They're awesome!

CWTN or Sic, do either of you think there will be a CWTN Bard plug-in or maybe better off to start leveling my enchanter? and quit with my bard hassle N get enchanter plug-in.

Which class you work on is entirely up to you. It's not my intention that people abandon classes in favor of ones that I have created plugins for. With that said there is an enchanter plugin and if you feel that works for your group makeup and you prefer to use the class plugins then I'd recommend trying out the plugin. If you already have an enchanter you can test out the plugin with it on the test server without making a purchase. The remaining classes will come in time, though I don't have a timeline available. So like the stickied posts says, when we have something to announce in regards to the remaining classes, we will announce it. All the plugins go into a "Beta" phase once we have something to present to users. During that time the plugins are free for everyone to test and scrutinize. Once we feel the plugins have reached a place where we're comfortable doing the official release, at that time we will release them for purchase.

BLUF: CWTN Plugins are worth it.

They are, in general, very aggressive in their skill/mana/endurance use. To stay focused, I will call out one thing I think sets this system apart: pulling. Between setting Campradius, Pullradius, Zhigh, Zlow, & PULLARC, you can really focus your team and have an awesome experience.

I will also call out that upon reaching a new level, or acquiring a new AA or new spell, CWTN plugins will update everything automatically. There is no having to edit a 4 page .ini file to match your new situation.

One downside, if you play a bard: you will still have to use another automation program or play it manually. Luckily, there are .ini files out there for bards that are fairly plug 'n play (with some minor editing).
