Everything worked fine until the most recent update just today; now, a couple of my toons get a crash message whenever I try to log them in with MQ2 running. Oddly enough, if I click Retry on the crash message, they still load in just fine. However, things are messed up; though there's still an MQ2 window, MQ2Nav is completely broken, they won't join my EQBC server, and a host of other problems.

Anyone experiencing a similar issue or have any ideas?

I experienced this as well on Rizlona. Randomly 1 of 6 accounts crashed. Loaded back in fine. About 20 min later a different account crashed. Again, loaded back in just fine. I changed the priority for my instances of eqgame.exe to "above normal". Seems to be working fine now.

edit: spoke too soon. crashes kept happening intermittently during raiding last night. Everything would be fine for a bit, then I'd click on a different window to access a toon and that toon would crash with a redguides error (dspadv.dll caused an error @ 0x223c). Retry was unsuccessful. Each time I had to kill the eqgame process that was no longer responding and reload the char.

Doing some more testing with this while I have a bit of free time this morning. I installed Redguides Release into a fresh folder as default vanilla fresh install loaded up the 12 and no crashes. So not a problem with the build itself most likely..

Adding in stuff one at a time to try and pinpoint it.

Added in my Macro folder from the 'broken' folder and it ran fine. Will go through each plugin now.

I'm fairly positive now that it's related to MQ2Discord plugin. Hopefully the others experiencing the problems above could confirm if they use it now.

Anyhow, having mq2discord=1 in the macroquest.ini worked, but having it actually setup with a proper INI is causing the issue. If you click 'retry' it seems to actually function as normal but it happens everytime you zone, but then when doing /plugin mq2discord unload it says plugin not found even though the .dll is sitting in the folder. So it doesn't seem to be working quite right on the latest build?

Turning MQ2Discord off completely though = no crashes whatsoever.

With Discord, it's very picky about the json file. So make sure that your json file is the right syntax. You can modify your token and paste here to get an idea of that: https://jsonlint.com/

The plugin not found thing is usually compatibility layers. Check to make sure it doesn't show upin the registry here: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers

I keep getting the error MQ2\Release\mq2dpsadv.dll crashed at address 0x223c. Yesterday was just Zerker, today both my Zerker and Bard are crashing. Anyone else experiencing that?

My bard has been crashing to desktop, with no error message at all. DBG.txt showed the "failed to create textures" which is discussed in the post here. While the issue there seemed to stem around the guild roster, after seeing this post, I unloaded mq2dpsadv, and have had no crashes.

I've gone through a boatload of searches, both on the official DBG forums, here, and google. The failed to create textures seems to be something fairly common, and I after all the googling, I don't think is related to the crash(es).

Oddly, my crash happens ONLY on one toon, a 115 bard running KissAssist. Same account, I have a 115 enchanter, and can run him (on KissAssist) without problems (over a period of about 60-70 minutes). Loaded the bard back in, and crashed within 5 minutes. Reloaded, crashed again within 5 minutes. Again, mine is a crash to desktop, with no error message. Toon stays "active" in game, and have to boot him when you log back in.

I deleted all .ini files, ui files, loaded default UI on the bard, deleted his /advl settings in the EQ folder, and nothing seemed to work. This morning I unloaded dpsadv, and have been online for over an hour, fighting in the same spot as last night, and haven't crashed (using the same KA file as before, and having reloaded a downloaded custom UI piece for the player window, everything else remains default). /shrug - here's hoping it was just the plugin and not something more involved!

ran updater, deleted mq2main.dll but so far no success. I hit the ok button and it loads but I have to do it with every toon, once in mq2 seems to work fine.

there was another update this afternoon (and a second one on wed)- try that again - it shows you got the one from Wednesday - which is when that error was popping up for folks, there was an issue with some of the plugins getting built.

iyou should see something like:

if you don't you might want to restart your comp, and then reload the launcher

im having an issue currently everytime i run rgmerc on my enchanter it will work for about 20 minutes and then boom it is crashing out completely and have to completely restart. im not sure if this is the right spot for this but i really wanted to know what to do. Someone please help. this has been wonderful and now all of a sudden this just started today.
