From what I gather from the macroquest boards, the guides for outlining how-to-compile-for-free have been removed. Something about elitists and such, and keeping people out of the mix who shouldnt be and what-not.

Those boards leave much to be desired in the way of nice helpful folks like yourselves, so I could care less.

However, a link to useful information has been obliterated and I think would be a good idea if someone with the knowledge would post similiar threads to the ones that were destroyed by Mr. Lax here.

I'm gonna find all those links and update my compiling for free guide after finals. The thread my guide linked to was just a gateway to the meaty links that were really needed, so I'll just replace it and put the whole freakin thing here since they wanna be dicks about it. I consider it to be general knowledge and I won't copy/paste so it's cool.

I found a file in my documents (dunno how or why it's there) that has the entire post from MQ2 boards on how to compile using the free online .net server method.

I don't know how to post the whole thing (screen shots and everything) but I can email it to someone who can post it here if you want. Also I did find the method for compiling the program using the free download method searching this board for it. I think Darkeros posted it.

Yah, I did. Don't bother about that page...don't think we wanna put someone else's post right on our boards. I'm gonna update my guide, but in the mean time if the one you have helped you more and you see someone in need of help, I wouldn't argue with giving it to them. I don't think the original poster of that information would either.
