Problem - Chanter Spam clicking - self buffing

Just started a new group to level up and on the server im playing on (emu) my chanter has staff of the serpent. i have it set up under buffs

Buff1=Staff of the Serpent|melee

but he's just constantly targeting himself and spamming the clicky. no other group members.

almost no ini setup on him yet, just changed buffs to on, assist % to 98 or 99 and a slow under dps. he's casting the slow on targets correctly.

included ini, but there's really nothing there. any ideas? maybe it's just an emu issue or something?

Dual lets it check for a different buff name than cast name

Might wanna check the spelling on the buff name after dual. I'm not at computer and did it from memory

Now what about him spam buffing himself even with the melee tag as a caster. Was that just a part of the weirdness of the code line being funky?

Fair enough. I did look through the wiki and had planned on running through and trying class and !class as well.

I haven’t seen much worth making my casters melee on the emu items where I’m playing but I’ll definitely keep that in mind if I run across any.

Melee tag would include hybrids like sk, pal, ranger, bs, etc correct?

Definitely a chance. Wanted to rule as as much as possible before I jumped to that conclusion. I’ll play with it more tomorrow. I hopped out of game for the night tonight.

Ended up hopping back on last night for a bit and the dual tag stopped the spamming but still no luck with him buffing anyone but himself.

Just made a useitem hot key to work around him refusing to buff anyone else, seeming like it could be some emu weirdness at this point.
