Question - Changing Roles on the fly

Good afternoon everyone;

I've been searching through the forums and having trouble finding an answer to this.

I am trying to find a command to change my mages role on the fly..... When I start him I want him in ASSIST mode. Then as my group makeup changes (ie.. I add a guildy, or friend to group) I want to use a command to change the mages role to PETTANK or PULLERPETTANK, or whatever I need him to be at the time.

Is there anyway to do this without restarting Kissassist?

Thanks in advance!!!!

Sincerely,

Jarlentor

No, you need to restart the Mac, I don't think /kasettings after changing the ini role entry would apply, but I could be mistaken

without reloading it i dont see a way to chage roles of the fly

I have hotkeys set to change rolls - that way i dont have to type it all out everytime

here is the list of commands for startup

from the wiki

Tip: Using EQBC or DanNet you can create a social hotkey to automatically start your other characters in assist mode to assist your primary character. Simply create a hotkey with one of the following commands. EQBC: /bca //mac kissassist assist BobTank DanNet: /dgtell all /mac kissassist assist BobTank

Alternate ini files: You can also tell KissAssist to load an alternate ini file. If your wizard has a separate ini to use ice nukes instead of fire nukes or your tank wants to run a DPS setup on easier content, you can just save another ini file and load that instead of your defaults, e.g.

Piling on...

I most frequently switch my SK from "tank" mode to "pullertank". I for sure always restart the macro because before I do it I want to Invis the SK so that he waits to run off and pull mobs until I've had a chance to ensure /chase off and /camphere on. It's always fun starting a pull and you realize the whole group is still chasing the SK!

With KissAssist, you have to restart every time on role changes. Secondly, I find it better to use group role assignments for managing restarts which keeps names out of hotkeys, but I am also not running multiple groups, I run a single 6-box. Additionally, why a /dgtell all? Use /dgga or /dgze instead to process commands on other toons. Here is an example for my Bard.
/noparse /dgga /if (${Me.Class.ShortName.Equal[BRD]}) /mac kissassist ${Group.MainTank} 99
As mentioned above, you can definitely load a different .ini file for specific encounters, events, etc.
