changing ports to play on?.

I was wondering how yougo about connecting to emu 5998 port after playing on 5994.... someone told me im unable to unless i know what im doing and know i can play on 6.2+.... <<< gibberish to me.

Open eqhost.txt in your eqemu folder. Once you do that, I think you can figure out what to do to change the port. As for playing on 6.2+, you might need to patch to a more currect patch. Not sure though, you might already be there.

EDIT: I took a look at the EQEmu site, and to play on 6.2 you need to have the 9/13/05 patch files. You currently have the 12/15/04 files.

EDIT 2: Sorry, I meant PRE 9/13, files I just happen to have, click the pretty link at the bottom of this post.

If you want to be able to play on the servers you're already on as well, I would advise making another copy or your live directory. Unzip the files in the link into the copy of your live directory you just made. Make the shortcut like you did with your currect EQEmu directory. You shouldn't have to change eqhost.txt at all if you download this patch.

EDIT 3: If it doesn't work, make sure eqhost.txt is

Ignore .... it only happens on some servers, others i can use.
