Hi. A while ago (bout 2 years ago, before I quit, then came back 2 years later) I use to know this little trick where I could make any word/group of words into a in-game item link. Such as "Staff of Own Your Face" would be in purple link text, but it would link to an item (like Staff of Power).

I remember the process was something like turning on log, sending yourself a whisper with the link of an item in game, then checking the log to get the item's "number" but I'm not sure.

Can this still be done? And if so, anyone know how? I'd like to be able to do it again, was funny to make up my own item links;). Thanks for reading/helping out!

The method you are talking about goes like this (info from rpg-expert);

1. Turn /log on
2. ;tell (link) (thats a ;tell)
3. Log will have something like this in it...
[date] Could not find player 0010099-00001-00001-00001-00001-00001176381C4Fiery

(In the log it does not have the little boxes)

4. Edit your character config file

Page2Button7Name=INC
Page2Button7Color=15
Page2Button7Line1=/g INCOMING [ 0028071-00001-00001-00001-00001-000015ED87FFC %t ] Get Ready!!!

(This is an example of an Incoming "link", so
it has the %t, but you could change that to your
items name. And you have to copy the little boxes
and past them into your config file at the correct
places. In the config text file they will look more
like a little line though)

All still works fine, but tried the (;tell link) since this expansion.

The box is character 18 (hexadecimal 12)
