Question - Building a Group for LDoN/GoD/OoW and beyond.

im running into an issue on what to do with my group makeup going into the new expansion to be coming.

Currently i run a Enc Clr Rng Brd Mag Mag mostly HS leveling in POP, and using Enc Charm pet as main tank.

I was told that i may need a tank if my focus will be to being able to solo farm Tasks/Missions. With that in mind i was considering doing SK Enc Clr Mag Mag Brd. Im really not sure what group make up i should use.

The Pool have access to stands as SK Clr Enc Brd Rng Magx3 Wiz Dru Shm There all around the same level, most with epics (minus SK Bard Wiz and Enc).

Another consideration is was thinking, Sk Clr Enc Mag Wiz Dru OOG/sit out tasks Shm Brd(AE Regen), or something similar.

Im not familiar with LDoN/GoD/OOW as i quit original EQ back when LDON came out, and restarted normal when House of Thule came out. Anyone have some insight that could help me select a balanced group with the resources i have?

Unless you join a raiding guild you'll want a Warrior. Furious gives time to slow, and the mobs in GoD hit too hard for a non-raid geared Knight to stand up to.

GoD had ungoldy burst DPS on most mobs. SK's get the AC bonus but on live I had trouble tanking with the sk until I was Qvic geared. Warrior would be the way to go imo. It will be interesting to see how the progression servers fair this round.

There are some Augs from LdoN you are going to want first, Dodge and Avoidance

If you have a monk and you're really worried about a tank surviving, you can always use WW as well. A zerker get's one as well. Rangers get weapon shield which lasts for a long ass time with AAs, plus they can taunt.

Lots of options to fix those types of issues.

I had an SK on fippy that was able to tank in GoD fairly well. Spikes were at times an issue, but I was also using ISBoxer at the time and wasn't nearly as good at healing as KA allows.

Toon had mostly LDON 75hp level gear. Had full QVIC by the time OoW rolled around though.

So I'd think you can do just fine. That said if you have a class that can snare and a class that can pull in group there isn't much reason to use an SK over a WAR.

Thanks for the input, i have thinking about power-leveling a warrior to replace my SK, i do notice the issue with SKs on the TLP when it comes to burst damage, especially in pop, i either need to make sure i have shaman slow on right as a pull or or i spot heal before the CH/Cleric heal lands. in comparison with a friend's warrior when we try doing the same thing side by side, he can take a 2 mobs on not-slowed and more slowed while i can take 1 not-slow and only a few slowed. Gear wise we are in Farwater Plate.

I still have not been to lock down the team make up yet. Been using SK Clr Enc Wiz Mag Shm(leveling shaman) with OOG Bard and Druid.

Trying to lock it down to a good 6 man for LDON, would like to leave my OOGs in pok. Never really played with a Bard in group before so i have no experience in that situation but after having one OOG for mana regen is so helpful makes me wonder if i can fit him into main group some how.
