These DH Heroic macros are control macros for one character, then DHHA macro runs that toon and tells your other characters (via EQBCS server commands) to start up whatever macro you want and follow the tank/puller. So the "All Tanks" you run on your tank and it will start KissAssist on your other characters. Before you run them, open the mac or ini file that came with it, update all the info for your tank/puller's spells/discs and what macros you want the rest of the group to run.
These rely on the
EQBCS server, so make sure you have that up and running. All Tanks uses /moveto commands, but some other DH macros will use MQ2Nav so you may want to
make your Dead Hills mesh map first. Both of these programs are included in the RedGuides Vanilla download.
Let's say you wanted to run
All Tanks V2. William has it set up for Pal, SK or War.
- Download the hillsinto2.ini, dead2all.mac and appropriate tank.ini to your Macros folder.
- Open and edit your new DH_(whatever tank type)_tankname.ini
- Update all the spells/discs as appropriate for your tank. If needed, at the bottom of the tank ini, update the macros you'd like your other classes to start once they are in the instance.
- "Save as" the tank ini with your tank's name instead of tankname.
- Get your group set up and near Gribble in Dead Hills. All toons connected to EQBCS.
- /mac dead2all (on just your tank)
Step 7 is troubleshooting. It's been a few months but I recall having to
track down wait4rez.inc or some other outdated file from another thread. I also had some user-error typos where my spells weren't correct in my tank.ini file.
What should happen is your tank will grab the Dead Hills instance from Gribble, wait a bit, then enter and command all your other toons to enter. The tank then watches EQBCS for "ready" messages from the other group members, then starts all their KissAssist (or whatever) macros. Gives a brief pause for buffs and starts "training" your group with mobs. As it finishes killing, it will keep moving up to pre-set points on the map and looking for more mobs to pull. When it gets to the end it will handle the final hail and head out.
My personal experience was these require a well geared tank or great CC. I also liked to watch it play and force some med-breaks if needed. If you wipe, move everybody back to Gribble in the instance and restart your dead2all inside.
Useful tank hotkey once you have your EQBCS/mesh/mq2nav running. This will make all toons target Gribble (inside or outside) and run back to him:
