Alright, so, the other day, I was soloing with my troub... hahaha, EQ2 nerds will get that. So, I was killing mobs, when a ^^^ added on me. I got scared, but here's something that saved my life, and might save yours.
First, you need a class that can charm and mez, and this works best when you are soloing.
So what you do is, when you get an add, either stun it first, then mez, or just mez first. Back away from the mob, then charm it. Tell the pet to stay, then return to default behavior, then dismiss the pet, and the mob will no longer come after you.
This works even if you already engaged the mob.
