Chardok B faction building (AOE Kiting in Nurga)

Hi all, been mulling over letting everyone know about one of my favorite AoE methods but here it goes.

First of all. You will need a high swimming skill of at least 170 (to swim up waterfalls). Do not try this until you can consistantly swim up the waterfalls in Nurga.

When you zone into Nurga you come upon a large caven with no mobs in it. There are two pathways from this area.

1) The path DOWN a waterfall.

2) A small caven that brings you to a water fall that goes UP.

If you hug the left wall when you zone in, you will come to this cavern and to the edge of the DOWN waterfall. There is a sweet spot that you have to find. When you come to the edge of the DOWN waterfall (while hugging the left cavern wall), face the caven that leads to the UP water fall (the area where Remey spawns) and take a few steps off the wall towards that cavern and strafe RIGHT about 5 step worth. REMEMBER THAT SPOT (u might have to adjust it).

Now get ur brass item ready and fear song ready and go pull a mob (pull a single from the UP Waterfall area). Run back to approximately where the sweet spot is and pop fear. If your in the right spot the mob will run a few steps and FREEZE (they look funny just waggling their tongues at you and all :D). If your not in the right spot, the mob will ping pong around and eventually freeze in the right spot. Dont try and chase em. Adjust your stance along the left wall that comes to the waterfall (the left wall mentioned earlier) until u get to a spot where the mobs run to the FREEZE point automatically.

OK now you can adjust your tactics. Fear is what keeps the mobs froze (Heh, and your AoE dot songs work again - YAAAHHH!).

I would three box (two bards and a healer type - Druid would probably be best). I would dedicate one bard (standing on the sweet spot) to playing nothing but AoE Fear (twist in other songs at your own risk). Use MQ2Twist! The other bard I would have my pull tools and AoE dots up. The healer I always had Cleric.mac running standing near the AoE fear bard. I wish I had a screenshot of one pull that I did that had over 50 mobs stuck on that spot.

I would could go either direction (UP or DOWN waterfall) and pull like 20-30 mobs and run back to the zone in cavern and let fear take hold and start up my AoE dot songs. Work up to this to gauge how many you can pull safely. I dont know if u keep agro if u warp (havent tried it yet). Might be an easy way up a waterfall to the entrance cavern.

This technique works with a single bard (or any class with reliable fear) as soon as they get it, but the mobs take forever to kill (as you will only be able to pull singles and play nothing but fear - trust me on that one). You will have to melee it down at lower levels, but you will take NO damage. Bring a high DPS melees with you if you are lower level.

To prevent other players from ruining my day (i.e...hey, how r u locking down those mobs like that?) I would just drop fear and yell train and run to the entarance (I always kept my map up to tell if someone zoned in on me). IF THEY SURVIVE THE TRAIN OF 50 mobs, just say oops, pulled to many when u get the WTF tells. I only use this tactic when I know that there is no way Im going to explain myself (with like half the zones mobs stuck in one spot).

I have not tried this with blind, intimidate or other fear like abilities, but I'm pretty confident it will work (as this is a pathing exploit).

This area was my main money maker as the loot isnt too bad selling at the bazaar. PL'ing works also because the healer and the AoE fear bard doesnt have to be grouped with anyone for this to work. Send me a tell if u need help with this.

Ok now thats reet, I'll have to go give it a try what lvl range were you doing this at?

Can you post the loc of the sweet spot? That would be aweomse. What level do you think would be best for a bard to do this? Can you cast any spells and melee on the mobs with no worries of damage?

Thanks!

You can use this as soon as you get fear (any class). However, the mobs there have a lot of HP's and take forever at lower levels to take down.

I always dedicate a single bard to singing AoE fear (using MQ2twist) to lock down the mobs. You can add another bard to do AoE chants, or a healer (u will take damage doing a pull).

I had the best luck doing aa's for lvl 50's in this area. Set up was

1) lvl 55 bard doing AoE fear.

2) lvl 51 bard (puller) dots

3) healer (any will do), as the puller will take damage until the fear takes hold.

Caution, the mobs do resist fear from time to time and will take a swing or two at you until fear takes back hold.

As for the sweet spot, best thing you can do is pull a single mob in to the entry cavern and fear it. It will ping pong around (and not get adds) till it sticks in one spot. You can choose the best spot to place your toon based on where they stick. I will try to get you a good loc and a screen shot when able.

heh, i need a hosting site so I can link a picture of the zone. Anyone know of a good free one?

I havent heard anything from the community. I am hoping that this is working for you all? Common now, I wanna win something!=P

Now that I know what you are talking about after seeing picture. That is an awesome spot. I would camp there with my necro (Pre-MQ2) because mobs were higher than going down falls into Nurga and great drops as well.

I would explain it as...when you zone into MoN follow right wall to first falls (not the big drop one, one through passage) and swim up falls but be careful not to go too far. Problem is that not everyone can swim up falls. (I've brought PL groups there) Not sure if they don't get it or their swimming needs to be high enough...took me awhile the first time I tried it. There are casters so it can be tough for bard, they nuke, dot, and root.

I recommend this as a great solo spot at late 40's early 50's.

Haven't really tried it yet this is more useful for lower end toons. I use HoH/Vxed for my plvling, but I'm gonna give it a try in a few and I'll give you some feedback.

Actually, I've discovered another good reason to be able to do this. To build your chardok faction (makes getting to chardok B a hell of a lot easier). For those of you who are now scared to use /warp, a lvl 60+ could build faction here quick.

How can Ghost get you banned????

I've been using it and I'm not being stupid about it. I never kill when others are in zone and I use rare zones. However I never use the autoattack that allows you to shoot a ton of arrows...that could be caught. I think the only time you get busted is if someone /petitions and you get investigated.

It's an awesome tool that gets abused...you're not a GOD ingame. If I get banned from Ghosting I'll come back and say ooops, but until then just don't be stupid.

/warp succor puts you up by falls and there is a corner with the big rock that you can still do this at.. just pull mobs to under falls and do /warp succor and they warp up with u
