This has to do with 2 items in the bazaar with similar spelling. Most of you probably know Alkalai Loam and Alkaline Loam have similar spelling. Alkalai drops off level 70+ mobs and is used for high end crafting while Alkaline drops from level 20+ mobs and used for tier 1 cultural crafting. I saw first hand while out buying this stuff for my newbie bard, and noticed prices on the cheap stuff selling in the range of 20pp to 9000pp. Several people I chatted with in the bazaar claimed to have bought the higher priced, LOW level items by mistake.
Fist off its a easy way to make extra cash, on the other hand it raises the legitimate price above what it should be. 20pp it a bit high for a uncommon drop.
So if your looking to make extra cash either way here is a tip... head off to Beholders Maze (Gorge of King Xorbb). Both Alkaline Loam and Thalium Ore drop here. I have a level 56 druid and a 25 Bard, I setup at an area where pathing mobs converge, buff up the bard for pincushion damage, and run his AoE damage song. every once in a while a evil eye might show up, but their not hard to deal with, minotaur's will need to be snared cause they run off. in 30 minutes I gathered about 10 of each item. (both are used in tier 1 cultural crafting for Drakk race).
BTW Drakk cultural armor is probably easier to sell in the bazaar as apposed to the woodelf druid set (I make both). Drakk armor can be used by more classes and you can make both chain and plate, woodelf druids are for them only.
