Question - Afollow vs Chase

Hey guys,

I duo box an SK using CTWN. To get my SK to follow me I send /bct name //afollow spawn ${Me.ID}.

But here on the forums I also see lots of references to /chase. What's the difference between afollow and chase, and which one is better?

Another question: Is there a way to get your toon to follow you after zoning? I always have to resend the command.

Thanks.

well my plugins have a mode for chasing you. Which persists through zonelines

/shd mode chase

don't use chase mode when entering guild hall, your toon will automatically zone into sunrise hills. It's annoying.

afollow keeps track of the location of the follow character and tries to move to those locations one at a time in order to follow a character.

chase mode in the plugins uses MQ2Nav to follow the MA. Nav calculates a path from point A to point B while avoiding obstacles based on a mesh of a zone.

Ah, nice. Thanks CWTN.

However, what if I've set my SK to BE the MA, but I want her to chase me (the rogue that I'm manually playing)?

Afollow is best when you're not fighting. So if you're moving from one camp spot to another, or you need to go to another part of the zone. Chase is when you want to be mobile and fight things along the way.

/chase is a kissassist/muleassist command.

the cwtn plugins all have a chase mode built in as indicated before. and they chase your MA

so you can't have your sk set to MA and expect it to chasemode your rogue you would probably want to utilize afollow at that point - just ensure you afollow off when you go to engage in combat
