I think if your dps is super high, you can get through these before all the mechanics engage. Well done Sic, my bard often turns into a doormat during missions, bard song seems to draw agro before anything else.

running this mission again and messing around with the orbs - It seems to be fine if you just engage the orbs and don't let them get to their aura (which explodes) i just fought them until the despawned and went back to aary/grolly like i accidentally did in the video

done this mission a few times now - dunno never seen a guardian.

did manage to kill so fast that aary flew away before grolly was dead AND no orbs spawned heh.

Really surprised you get to avoid all sorts of stuff by just killing fast

Just a Q, why do you have Jann's mask in downtime clickies? thought effect is perma, not?

Also, my Shamy got over 50K AAs - epic - all flags from TBL to ToV along with armor, while using war to tank in "The Call" mission shamy fails to keep group alive, any explanation?

I have the same problem with my sham when I try crusaders.
 
I do the same with content I haven't done before (the charge, run away, charge, thing you did at the start). :)

SK with epic. bst throwing patch heals, SHM with Rez stick, manisi branch/VP staff, BRD singing heal crit song. There are a lot of complementary things helping keep the group healed.

yeah likely due to the aoe's being broken - devs have confirmed they're using the raid versions of the aoes - and in other videos i've talked about a few things to do to avoid - like don't get frontalled - avoid rampage is you can. I talked about this in my second call video.

re: the jann's mask - downtime makes it reapply it if im missing it - like sometimes falls off due to death or mob stipping buffs or whatever
 
If those are the raid AoE's this is going to be another gimp year of raids. Awesome.
 
Edit - Never mind somebody explain prison to me. Decided to just tank orbs super easy then.


SIC in some of your later runs have you had to deal with the earth prison thing at all? I’ve knocked out crusaders with no real issue and like you I run high DPS (3 ber+bard) but this mission I just started digging into last night is giving me issues - not through anything other than just a) not understanding mechanics (no idea how the earth prison thing works) or b) bugginess with auras being a little funky dragging to earth or exploding wrong time.

I know I’ll knock this out but just curious if you have the prison piece figured out as it is the number one cause I fail this and I’d like to put this mission and zlandi on farm status for coins (probably do the other two as well given how quick they are).

The earth prison happens when you use the earth aura for protection. Each aura has a punishment for using it, but also protects you from some other mechanic.

nah every run i just face smash it - I've actually killed it too fast and had times were i've never gotten orbs, or aary flew away and never came back

Yeah I need to watch your video again because I should have the dps to do it like you do but I’m not getting same effect (like when I engage grolik first time usually drops to like 60 before dropping of course he comes up at 90). I usually don’t fast burn the first part Of ary which might be the issue since now that i think about it, it is a timed Base release. Going to switch up my next few runs And see if I can simplify it. first time around I only got the one spawn, no orbs not so sure but I should be able to do with 3 ber.
 
Just ran this new version.

Event is much slower - but it was an absolute cakewalk.

same diff with pretty much everything, except much lower incoming damage.

I wasn't able to burn fast enough to make orbs not spawn - but the 2 orbs i got i just aggo'd them and let them sit on me the whole time, and then did the grolly/aary rotation following the brown shit on the ground - i had 1 guardian pop which i don't ever recall seeing before, so i fought him when nothing else was up, but ignored him otherwise.

The oranments are cool I ignored them and runing this fror a friend so he could get his progression he grabbed them for his group - I’ll def be gearing up in them soon.

also it makes me feel better that you couldn’t burn through with no orbs on this version. I’m sitting here doing the event on test and can’t figure out how you did that and I’m convinced I can’t make grolik disappear any faster.

I’ve run this event probably 5 or 6x since the test patch and you always get 1 guardian and just tank the Two orbs.

Now working on the maximum echo ought to be fun but hopefully the other thread wiTh the events ought to make it kind of easier.
 
Well I have failed at this 3 times now, all goes ok till orbs arrive, i run to middle pillar tag orbs, they come over and literally insta kill the whole party, normally the cleric 1st, not sure whats going on.

4th time, dead again, orbs arrive, jump on cleric, and all over, I thought you pulled them to auras and then they de-spawned, I have not see one disappear yet. Grolly then repops and mows rest of group down.

5th time tried to ignore, the orbs, ae agro, grollic repopped, got him down again, but orbs wasted the group, seems to be some AE going off that makes characters take 50% damage in one go.

So the big thing is the auras rotate. you have to make sure it’s the earth aura. But personally it’s a lot easier to jsut tank them and ignore the mechanics. Your tank is still tagging the auras to tank them while youu fight grolik right? Then you need to make sure you keep the orbs away from every aura don’t run them in by accident.

The biggest item is to fight grolik down anytime he is up (even when you have a guardian). Also save your biggest burns for the very end when you have a guardian + grolik thats what will hurt most people these days.

The thing about this even is it‘s a little - I won’t say buggy but running the orbs around without setting off an aura (which creates an AE) takes some practice. It will probably take a few deaths. But practice as many times as possible tanking the orbs. thats the easiest way to win at this point in time.

Otherwise would need to get a sense of how far you are getting in the event to provide more detailed advice.
 
I keep getting to the orbs, soon as they appear I cant figure out what to do, I agrod them at first and pulled to the pillar in the middle, but it wiped everyone, they certainly dont despawn, I am at a loss on what to do, theres auras around several pillars but depending on where grollik spawns your stuck anyway, how are you supposed to keep them away from everything?

Ok 7th wipe, Orbs appear, tagged them, auras vanished, ran to grollik, re-engaged, orbs followed, everyone died in 2 seconds, no idea how anyone is ignoring the orbs, but some AE keeps going off wiping me, and they love my cleric, even with SK ae agro, they just pound on him.

Grolik up for no longer than 3 or 4 seconds each time he pops, 10% off his health quickly, but the orbs are far more of a problem.

8th Time, wipe, ran to earth aura tagged orbs, they wiped everyone bar SK in one go, (cleric 1st obviously) So much for them changing it, I got further into it before the patch,

You either tank the orbs, root them, or put them in their respective auras (if they go into the wrong aura, they explode) - you can't just dump them all into Earth and not get extra damage

You can’t kill them So you basically just drag them around the whole fight. They don’t do much damage. So basically you just drag them around and stay on grolik. If your entire group is dying you must be running the orbs through the auras and making them explode.

the problem is its less risk not using the orb mechanic To depsawn then to use them.
 
Hmm, ok. Im at a bit of a loss on how to keep on Grolik whilst keeping orbs away from auras, as soon as you tag Grolik he summons and orbs just shoot across the zone and blow up when they get to you. Just wiped for the 9th time........
 
What classes you got? they root just fine, Shaman can take care of them with ease but any rooter would do

Failing that, use the auras properly.... there's only 2 orbs to deal with now after all

I just run to grolik group following me and take a path not near auras then tag him super close. frankly I’m aready positioned near grolik before he pops up. Are you setting up camp Somewhere and trying to drag to you each time?
 
NO camp, everyone on chase, SK,BRD,BST,BER,Rog,CLR . I have run to the auras but as soon as i run into them they seem to vanish and orbs are still there, is there something I am doing wrong there, I seem to get the earth and the fire orb everytime.

10th wipe, got to orbs again, pulled them to group, away from all auras, took group apart in a few seconds, even my tank went down in a few hits, 400k hp, how your ignoring them I dont know. They seem to do a crap load of damage, fiery orb seems to be the one doing all the damage.

I’ll see if I can figure out how to record and share one of my runs (never bothered so i need to figure out best program and how to change my names). It’s not too different than sics approach though and the video youu saw. that being said I’m in raid gear o no tank so I can ignore easy but I also run a 2hander whole mission. sic’s gear isn’t great so I don’t think it’s a gear issue.

Whats your tank’s ac? and what is your full group make-up?

Tank 400k HP buffed, 9200AC, Full tier 3 CoV MAx aa. Zerker Tier 3 CoV weapons and armor, tier 2 ToV everywhere else max aa's same for Rogue and beast, brd tier 2 cov armor tier 3 weapons, cleric tier 2 ToV, cleric 280k hp, rest 310-330k. Wiped 12 times in all as waited between each wipe for disks to come up. Orbs just destroy me, even logged in my shammy instead of beast for ae root, and orbs got los and move so fast they killed him before it went off. logged now, 5 hours in aary instance, 12 or 13 wipes, 3% level gone. Need a break for a few hours.
