Hi All,

I'm seeking guidance on how to troubleshoot Follow Me/ Come to Me / Mimic Me.
  • I'm using KissAssist as I still don't really know how the MQ2(Charactertype) works or the other Automation tools.
  • I have a threebox set up that is working (the above buttons work as expected).
  • However, I am leveling 2 more toons to catch up with them to get the group rolling.
  • I've reviewed their KissAssist files and I don't see a discernable difference that would stop the buttons from working. For instance:
INI:
KissAssistVer=12.002
Role=Assist
CampRadius=30
CampRadiusExceed=400
ReturnToCamp=0
ChaseAssist=0
ChaseDistance=25
MedOn=1
MedStart=20
MedStop=100
MedCombat=0
LootOn=0
RezAcceptOn=1|90
AcceptInvitesOn=1
GroupWatchOn=0
GroupWatchCheck=FALSE
CorpseRecoveryOn=0
EQBCOn=0
DanNetOn=1
DanNetDelay=20
IRCOn=0
CampfireOn=0

DefaultUI=TRUE
DPSMeter=0
ScatterOn=0
LOSBeforeCombat=1

This is the same for all 5 Config.

I'm unsure how to get those buttons to work correctly. Is there a list of common troubleshooting steps I can take for this specific issue?

Those buttons have nothing to do with kissasisst, those buttons are from the groupinfo plugin, they work if you group them, and they are all running dannet

If the buttons annoy you, you can /plugin unload mq2groupinfo

Otherwise, you should set them up!
  • A. "Follow Me" requires mq2advpath loaded on everyone
  • A. "Come to Me" requires mq2nav with nav meshes loaded on everyone
  • A. "Mimic Me" and general plugin usage is defaulted to use mq2dannet, so that must be configured and working correctly.

Hey Poppa,

You left a few details out of your post. You say you are levelling 2 other toons - are they in group with the character using the buttons? These buttons issue commands only to characters in your current group, so if PL'ing them OOG the buttons won't work. Also, if the toons are not on the same PC then you may need additional setup.

If you hover over the buttons it will show the command that will be issued - it will be something like /bcg //nav id ${Me.ID}. The command tells you if you need EQBCS (/bcg) or Dannet (/dge I think).

Hi @Redbot and @vandersl, Thank you!

Here is some additional information:
  • I am playing two toons, both on the same Computer.
  • I have a Mage and a Zerker
  • The Mage Invites the Zerker into the group.
  • The mage sets the Zerker as Main Assist.
  • Both .INI files show that DanNetOn=1
  • Hovering over the Come to Me button on the Zerker shows: /dgge /nav id ${Me.ID}
  • Hovering over the Come to Me button on the Mage shows the same as above.
Other info:
Per the PluginManager (v1908):
  • mq2advpath loaded on both characters
  • mq2nav loaded on both characters
  • mq2dannet is loaded on both characters (or show as green)

Oh, if you're running kissassist your toons aren't going to use those if they're set to camp a certain area. Type /endmac on both toons, then try the buttons.

If that doens't work, it could be an issue in your MQ2GroupInfo.ini. The tooltips don't always reflect the underlying commands! Peek into your mq2groupinfo.ini or try /groupinfo reset

Still no luck? Try /dgae /wave and see if both toons wave.

Howdy Redbot,

Thanks again for the super fast reply. I used the /groupinfo reset command on both characters which appears to have made the buttons disappear and reappear.

Here is the command lines that issue when I press the button:

However, the other toon doesn't follow (In this case, the Mage).

I should also note that both currently have /kissassist manual to do my testing, unsure if that is a contributing factor.

Hi @Redbot

Gotcha - so I still have a persisting issue. For example:

On Zerker, issued command: /dge /target Zerkername

when I alt tab to the Mage, he is still targeting his own pet.

When i use /dex MageName /Target Zerkername, the same issue occurs. Mage does not target my Zerker

In the MQ window, I see that the commands are being issued on the zerker, but when I look at the mage, I do not see the commands broadcast there (not sure if I should?)

Howdy @Redbot
Wilco!
Here are my current results:
  • I ended macros on both toons. I did the command twice, just to be certain, which caused the following:

  • I can press Ctrl + F and use Nav to run me to my other toon without issue. This works on both toons.
  • Neither the Come to Me or Follow Me buttons are working still after having used the /groupinfo reset command
  • using /dgae /wave command will cause the toon who issued the command to wave, but not other party member.

Ok, the issue is with dannet. We're getting closer!

Are all your toons on the same PC?

Make sure it's loaded

/Plugin mq2dannet

Turn off any VPN or antivirus, as those can mess with your local network

@Redbot Your patience is awesome thank you!

  • Yes, both are on the same PC.
  • and SWEET MOTHER F&&&! It was my VPN.

So sorry to waste so much of your time. Google's free VPN was causing the issue. Follow Me is working like the champ it has always been now.
