Question - 2 Pullers in 1 Group

Hi All,

My brother and I are both 3 boxing to form 1 group. The stuff we are currently fighting is pretty easy so we've been trying to split the group up into 2 groups of 3 (while still all in the same group) to double the exp gain. The problem we've been running into is that each group will pull and fight, but not if the other group is currently engaged with a mob - so basically 1 groups pulls a mob and kills it while the other waits, then the other group goes out and pulls 1 while the other waits, repeat.

Is there anyway for us to get 2 pullers working at the same time in the same group?

We have tried setting both "tanks" to pullertank and also tried setting them to tank with a dedicated puller with chainpull turned on and the result appears to be the same in both.
 
Did you have chainpull on while PullerTanking? I just noticed this in the wiki:

ChainPull00/10=Off/1=On - Toggles chain pulling. Chain pulling ONLY works in the Puller role, not PullerTank.++
ChainPullHP901-100Mob HP level to start looking for another mob to pull

Maybe try ChainPull=1, with ChainPullHP at 100 and in Puller mode and see what happens?
 
Have ChainPull=1 and ChainPullHP=100 - have also tried 90 and 95. It seems like setting HP to 100 has helped some but now we keep getting the message "Holding pulls. PullWith Tangling Weeds is not ready." immediately after pulling the initial mob and will no continue to chain pull until it has died. Watching mobs path right in front of my part of the group and its not pulling them.

This is using the base redguides download/installer and using kissassist. We haven't really gotten into trying out other macros/scripts yet because this basic stuff can be so confusing - so we've been sticking with the basic info we gathered from the tutorials section and what we can find from searching on the forums.

We did some further testing and even with ChainPull=1 and ChainPullHP=100 if there is a mob the other group is fighting the pullers will not pull

If the group is physically separated, 3 chars at camp A and 3 chars at camp B (which is how I'm reading your description, correct me if I'm wrong), then I don't think KA is going to work the way you want it to. The issue is that while group A is fight a mob, group B puller is expecting that mob to come to his camp (he thinks that mob is the next in an already in-progress chain pull) before he initiates a chain pull attempt. The way I understand chain pulling to work is that once all mobs on agro are in camp, then decide if/when to chain pull (it may also be waiting until only 1 mob remains on agro). Since you have a very abnormal scenario, it's never going to meet that criteria.

If you insist on splitting the group like this, you'll need to be driving the pullers and manually bringing mobs to their designated camps for the automated characters to kill. My suggestion would to either run a huntertank setup or consolidate the group at one camp and manually pull mass trains of mobs to that central location.
 
Generally kiss and most combat macros and plugins, will use xtarget1 as the main slot to determine what to attack, so using these tools are gonna give you a bad experience if you want 2 pullers in group

specially if have the group split in different areas, its just not gonna work.

I also tried this worked okay until 70ish. After that the TTK increased to a point it was not effective. unless of course you're only fighting light blue or green mobs. but the decrease in xp per kill will also hurt you.

I read a lot of guides on effective leveling and such. and determined for me. simply doing /xp waiting 2 respawns and getting an ETA to level then making a change and checking again.
 
Ok so from my experience so far and what I'm reading here it doesn't look like its possible to fully automate this easily. Thanks for the information everyone I appreciate yalls knowledge!
 
What I have done before is just make a raid of 2 groups of 3 toons.... The xp is the same and can have 2 marked tanks and pullers.

I do this a lot for old hunters where toons are all over the zone in pairs.

And this would only be a small part of the reason I wait to see what Sic has to say about, well EVERYTHING
