This is about the only tip I can pass on, I've only seen it posted once before in all my eq forums reading.......
http://www.outertech.com
Has a free download called cacheman ....I couldn't 2 box without it...... or have my full ram working...
Windows me has a known issue with eq, my system could be expanded to 768 ram but anything over 512 ram and eq would crash.......since using cacheman I can use my full 768 ram......the knowledge base at station.com had only one fix go to msconfig and use advanced setting to show only 512 ram, but wasn't enough to get second box up for me
I've read at Lax's site that every time you zone or camp a char eq sucks some of your ram ultimately causing you to client side crash with cacheman in my tray I can
a) see available ram (ME otherwise doesn't show)
b) use the Recover memory now feature and "pump" my ram back up to 250 or so open second box, and re pump as needed till I have both chars in zone I want them, maybe a few more pumps (usually gets 40 ram back a pump) and I'm good to go.....
Even playing only one char, and being in say POK or WOS that get so laggy using cacheman seems to help
In getting the link I saw that there is now a cachemanXP, maybe that might help those with a newer system...
hope that helps

By the way this is a very nice forum even for non MQ'ers,
the POT lock pick tip was worth the initial months fee when I first got here
